Here in the U.S. you could say we have a similar ranking compared to what Oricon puts out. The difference is that only the Top 10 manga are posted and NO sales numbers are given. The New York Times puts out this info every Friday!

Glad to see Black Bird doing so well. No love online but still a best seller! Happy to see Tegami Bachi chart as well. The store I work at sold out of our first order of both books!

Wow, I knew Viz was the best seller of manga in the US but it completely dominates save two Tokyopop titles lol

VIZ really does dominate. Until the next volumes of Tsubasa or Negima come out Del Ray manga probably won't chart. The Yotsuba& reissues are doing very well at my store, I expect a couple of them will chart for Yen in weeks to come. With Soul Eater coming out late next month they should start doing real well.

one big difference between US and Japan is the absence of OP....
i wonder if its going to change after those massive releases next year.

There hasn't been a recent volume of OP to chart. Volume 21 came out in June, volume 22 won't come out till October. While not the most popular manga here it does sell well enough to make the NY Times booklist. It certainly outsells Inuyasha.

wow... Bleach beat Naruto? Good news for bleach I guess. I've always assumed that Naruto was WAY more popular than Bleach, so this came as sort of a surprise to me. But then again, I Don't really follow American Volume rankings, so maybe they are equal... idk, sorry for rambling lol.

I guess I should point out that Naruto 46 has been on that list for 10 weeks already so a new Bleach vol. could easily beat it right now. The last volume of Fruits Baskets has done equally well as Naruto. The One Piece campaign will start in January pumping out 5 volumes a month for 6 months. Another Naruto volume will be out next month which will dominate the field.

That's a new volume of Bleach too. It should dominate or VIZ would have a lot to worry about. New Naruto comes out next month, that will dominate for at least three weeks.

It will be nice to see One Piece up there on that chart when new volumes come out...and hopefully it can mangae to beat Bleach cause that would mean its gaining a much wider audience in America finally

but in USA I'm surprised to see that.

and i remark the shojo manga sell well not like frensh market :::

Since no one posts figures for U.S. sales I can only speculate but I doubt anything ever sells more then 100,000 copies. Even bestsellers rarely sell that much in such a short time. Except for Harry Potter, Twilight, and Dan Brown.

.hack's popularity is shocking and disappointing. Shojo has sold really well here for a long time now. Fruits Basket was the second most popular title, after Naruto. So happy that Black Bird has spent seven weeks in the charts

How many sales do you guys think it takes to be on top of this list? I would say no more than 10,000, but on one hand that seems too little and on the other hand it seems to large (which is the direction I'm leaning in).
