Done つくづく彼も役得だよね。

[Guren no heya kara]

Our heroes break into a place to save one of their comrades (female) and other people.
They fight a boss, beat him, but it's not completely over and the main character is
in a pinch due to the boss, thought to be dead, on the verge of killing him with a
surprise attack. Suddenly that female comrade who they came to save...saves him.
She's glad he's safe and sound, the situation they were in (her, and the others imprisoned)
she thought she would've never seen him again and so on. Of course there's something
going on between the two though she denies while the other comrades comment,
smirk and so on...while she's hugging him very tight almost in tears...
One of the male comrades comments that

しかし君の時といい、
つくづく彼も役得だよね。

saying it to another girl in the party who basically did the same to the main character
(she thought he was done for on another occasion, never seen him again...
and when he suddenly showed up, she ran to him and hug him very tight, in tears...
She replies that she doesn't remember having done such a thing (but she did it).

I can't understand this つくづく彼も役得だよね。

役得 means side-benefit.
Hero got hug by women,that might not be the purpose of his act,and women not his favorite,it seems to be envious.
