Trying to sort out the best option for a Pick 'Em league, but it seems like every time a WC or Euro happens there's less and less options. FOX has the World Cup now instead of ESPN, and has no league options.

This seems like the best option currently but it's limited to 15 entries. Unlike in past years we would pick how each group finishes instead of each fixture though. Not ideal, but other options I've seen were either more limited, too expensive, or had idiotic scoring features like giving more points for predicting a draw than a win. I'm open to any suggestions that I'm might be missing though.

This is the invite link for the league. Unlike in past years we'll basically be picking placement in groups for 1pt each instead of picking individual fixtures throughout group stage. A bit less work and maybe less flukey too, so good be better potentially. The more familiar format should return in group stage.

At what point does the quality of the host country's team factor into deciding on hosting? I guess not at all right? Ecuador had the tournament's earliest goal ever negated because of space-age technology. At least South Africa was capable of qualifying before...

I saw a 3D model of it and it looked legit IMO. But that's not getting called without their 12 cameras and VAR so idk

Yep, also this stat here which is amusing.

Probably doesn't help with the British/ Western pundits blasting this World Cup daily, there's so much negative PR heading into this tournament. People were losing their minds on social media when they banned alcohol from being brought into the stadiums earlier this week.

There's a lot of stupid shit going on with how it's been organized, was clearly awarded due to corruption, but the whole blatant exaggeration of migrant worker deaths is just weird. No point in needing to lie about the number.

That's quite astonishing, actually. You would think that would've already occured, but I guess Qatar gets that honor.

To be fair it's a bit less eyebrow-raising when you consider that the opening match has only had the host country as a participant 11 times. A bit less crazy than it never happening before in the previous 21 tournaments.

Honestly pretty decent. I don't know about the security tho, could be risky if some psycho is nearby.
