Synopsis:

Yona is the young princess of Kouka kingdom and her most striking feature at a glance is her luscious red hair. Look a little longer and you'll see her father, King Il, dotes upon his only child at every chance. She has a strong, handsome bodyguard named Hak; and she in love with her cousin Soo-Won. One day the man Yona loves tears down illusory her world, forcing her and Hak out of Hiryuu palace to live a life on the run.

Outside of the palace walls, Yona and Hak find they cannot stay once place too long in fear of endangering others. In their travels, they encounter a priest whom after meeting Yona has a dream - one involving dragons, a sword and shield, and the return of the legendary Red Dragon at dawn. The prophecy the priest speaks of sets Yona and Hak on a path that finds them a new family and help protect the Kingdom of Kouka.
