I vote for Suzaku .. extreme speed and very high attack power, and use a sword to attack, it would be a counter to August's hax

Suzaku could counter August but August still has crazy magic and could kill him with the suicide move Ars Magia.

Suzaku, maybe, depends how he's beaten. I reckon Gildarts is soloing a black knight, or maybe even Georg, but that could just be Gildarts improving over the timeskip

August can't copy magic without the tool. He has handicap here. Still, he is powerful and has erudition but I can see Suzaku blitz or break through his spells.
I think Suzaku can defeat August in a clean victory but I don't underestimate the mighty August.

Suzaku is a beast but I can't see him winning against this duo. Still waiting the end of his fight vs Selene to have a clean point about his strength but for now, he gets stomped R2.

Never said that was his only way to effectively kill him lol. I said if he is losing he could resort to that move. With Irene he wouldn't need it all and it would be a decisive victory.

They were, as younglings. Now, they have grown since centuries and rised Acnologia's level, or close one. That's their portrayals.

By Analogy, Makarov was the prime of Fairy Tail. Today, is it the case ? The youngs rised since past time. They grew in power and experience.

So, yes, I think Suzaku is impressive as well. Even if Selene was jobbing, she could be Eileen's level and Suzaku countered her and hurted her. For me it's a feat.

Based on his performance he beats either alone. I need to see more to decide how he fairs against both together. It also depends on the way Selene’s moon manipulation is tiered. If she’s casually enlarging the moon or dragging it closer, that changes the convos.

suzaku is gildarts level imo, selene was playing with him and suzaku only damaged her because she was surprised by what he said

Fortunately for Suzaku we've seen August fight members of Fairy Tail when the enemies were ready to be defeated. All of Suzaku's feats are during the hype phase. They are impressive, but if he is to be defeated by say Erza, it'll happen, just like it did Irene.

Similarly to Kyria, who started out taken on everyone, having a decent-ish fight with Erza, she was eventually beaten and completely outclassed by Laxus. Laxus then had a tough bout with Erza.

So I am reticent to believe Suzaku is stronger than August. In a logical scenario, August can defeat basically anyone who doesn't have more MP than him, or can't spike their power like Natsu can. August is also incredibly durable and physically strong. That said, Suzaku has the attach potency to damage August, and has the necessary power to kill him. And who knows what 5th Gen DF is like.

Anyways, I'm voting August. Edit: no voting, I'd expect August to win.

YES August can't copy Suzaku's magic.

But Y'all forgot about all the spell comb inations August can do to compensate that.

Sound magic to predict all of suzaku's actions (reading his mind plus hearing his muscles) combined with enhaced meteor to match his speed.

Reflector magic will reflect Suzaku's sword ( August not using it against cana was plot armor)

Then August has plenty of mighty spells for offense ( crush, melt etc)
