Berserk

By far the most visually detailed manga I have ever seen. The most impressive part about it is how its all hand done and by one person.

I nominate Otoyomegatari. Basically, the mangaka draws every single pattern on everyone's outfit, and actually makes them look like they've been stitched. She draws each person dressed differently and look differently according to their background and ancestry. She draws in detail the different food they eat. Heck there's an early chapter just dedicated to craftsmanship and wood carving.

I nominate Emanon's Wanderings for best art. I know that there is better technical art, but sometimes neat, clean and perfect isn't always better. Kenji Tsuruta's art really resonates with me and speaks to me.

I'm supporting the nomination of Otoyomegatari. I personally believe that the mangaka superb skill in drawing the background is vastly underrated. If I'm allowed to make a comparison, I can say only Miura who is able to match her skill in term of making splendid details of the background.

I have 2 nominations for now...

First is BLAME!...incredible vistas, best area designs and awesome doublespreads...

Second is Feng Shen Ji...details and designs are very good, and the fact that it's colored adds a bit more to the immersion in the story...and it's well balanced too...

I only nominate One Piece for Best Art for now. So many different settings and architecture styles used, most of the time very comical. Sometimes a bit chaotic - but it's worth looking into the panels' details. There's always a pandaman hiding somewhere.
