I nominate Kokou no Hito for best drama.

It's story about loner. He founds love in mountaineering and that gives him feeling that he is truly alive. This great piece has monumental realistic drawings and unique lead character. As he climbs mountains or simply lives his life the readers can "feel" that omnipresent danger and, of course, drama.

I nominate Asano Inio's A Girl By the Sea for so believably demonstrating how mean and petty people can be when they can't be emotionally honest with each other.
