A tough category for me. I'm assuming based that we're not doing specific volumes here but rather general series with a volume that released this year? Since that gets weird with the English versus Japanese releases.

In any case I support..

Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darō ka - My favorite LN series period. Heroic fantasy at it's best.
Overlord - Just a great dark and often funny read. And one that genuinely manages to capture that high fantasy feel in it's own way. It's really one of a kind and I love it.

And I nominate

Kumo Desu ga, Nani Ka? - While admittedly an extremely slow burn. These novels reward you for that in a big way. There is a lot going on here and it does some pretty ambitious things for an isekai story. Also Spider-chan is the best novel protagonist.
