I will only nominate GrayMi (Gray x Mira) for Best Pairing Award.

Brief Explanation/Reason:

1.) Mashima based off both of their whole entire lives on demons. Gray was terrorized by Deliora and Mira was terrorized by a demon spirit.

Now Gray is the Devil Slayer and Mira is the She-Devil. And as they say... Opposites Attract.

2.) Gray is the very few guys, if not the only guy that calls Mira, "Mira-chan". In Japan, the -chan is used by males when they are referring to a significant female in their life.

3.) They have a secret running joke between them, where Mira always teases Gray when she fakes cries everytime Gray unintentionally comments that her idea or drawing is stupid. Just like married a couple.

4.) Recently, Mashima drew a picture of the two together...

I like GaLe a lot too and is a really nice ship, but I'll stick with the other 3 for overall impact in the story (to come).

GrayXJuvia- In my opinion, is the most natural pairing in the series. Gray didn't just fall for Juvia instantly, but Juvia was tenacious in an non annoying way.
NatsuXErza- A hold out from earlier in the series. I just liked the potential of it.

I don't really care too much about relationships in a manga or anime... But since the nominations so far have been pretty generic and repetitive, I'll add one that is somewhat unique.

The three strongest ships of 2016 has to be these 3.

NatsuXLucy. The sheer volume of fanservice they have since the timeskip is unparalleled. There seems to be a gravitational attraction between Lucy's breasts and Natsu. Special chapters like the Stone Age one just take it over the top. The picture in my avatar also happens to be Hiro Mashima's current twitter cover.
GrayXJuvia. With chapter 498, I think it's safe to say that Gruvia is now fully cannon. Also, I personally buy into the theory that Gray kissed Juvia as she lost consciousness and that she wasn't imagining it.
GajeeXLevy. They are confirmed to have 2 children in the "Trouble Twins" light novel. Plus, Gajeel is obviously whipped, and that' always amusing to watch.

Jellal and Erza are right up there in terms of the overall story, but in terms of focus in 2016 these three take the spotlight.
