Thorfinn's parting with violence from 71st chapter of Vinland Saga for best plot twist/best epic moment. In fact, the latter one.
Here you go.

Some friends calls me "heartless bastard" because I didn't cry at some parts of Clannad (I was basically forced to watch that) and other "you simply have to cry" way too emotional stories . But when I read Vinland Saga and saw this moment in particular I had to shed tears. It was so natural development, and thanks to Yukimura Makoto's masterful storytelling you will believe Thorfinn his sorrow and new dedication.

EDIT: Well, I wouldn't say this is a plot twist in the right of that term, but this epic moment is quite long way from the start of story so I should put it into spoiler.

He was introduced as an ally an acted as such for most of this arc, so his scheme was very much unexpected.
