I really liked how in Evangelion, all the buildings in the whole Tokyo-3 could sorta like, invert or move underground to protect themselves when the EVAs were fighting the Angels. I think that's pretty brilliant and very sci-fi, so that's where my vote went.

Just bringing up a series that didn't get nominated/to this round, but I thought Gundam 00 and it's orbital elevators were a very interesting touch and as a science geek, I was quite intrigued by them.

I went with Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex because it gives us a truly believable society of how a man-machine co-existing world would look like, which IS slowly becoming reality in our real world in the future or even near-future. It's realistic/possible Sci-Fi, and not fantasy/impossible Sci-Fi.

Code Geass has much more grand Sci-Fi, but that also means it's more fantasy and unrealistic.

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing isn't so much Sci-Fi (other than the mechas), as it was tackling the greatest problem for humanity: violence/war :D

-----------------------------

I laugh at how older Americans write books about what the robotic/machine future would be like... they really need to see GitS: SAC, as it is light years ahead of them, sighs. Older Americans got left in the dust, GitS: SAC has already been presented/envisioned and its far better than what they've come up with, which is laughable compared to GitS: SAC, hehe :D

I want to scream whenever older Americans talk about the future of robotics and machines in our world... WATCH GitS: SAC, DAMMNIT! GET BLOWN AWAY, at how far behind and feeble your thinking and ideas are!

It's a shame I missed voting. Personally, I would have chosen Ghost in the Shell. I like Code Geass but I feel GitS is both more consistent in quality and closer to the genre of Sci-Fi than Code Geass.
