8mb/s for like $25 maybe 8'000kBit/s down and 1'000 kBit/s up... Using some local but before it was Telia 2mb/s

Remember when I sat on dial-up 56kbps modem... Downloaded songs while shopping, took 30mins... Oh the upgrade from 56kbps to 8mbps.... took a while to adapt to...

100mbit/s by bredbandsbolaget, for around 35$/month. Not that I ever use the full speed, but considering the price there's no point in buying less ^^

Time warner cable internet and dsl

I wonder if this is a newbie question or not cuz i have never use time warner cable in my life. So here are my "newbie questions" xD...
1. How much does it cost monthly after the first 12 months?
2. What is the different between dsl and cable?
3. Do i need to have a phone line to use cable like dsl?(because I have only 1 line phone so whenever I try to go online, my sister pick the phone up and my internet die. Its frustating! )

Upgraded some time ago to 24mbps. Not really 24mbps in reality but rather 3mbps or so but it works. Costs 'bout €20 too so it's not all that bad.

I'm sorry I'm no good in this topic because I always rent a computer in a shop. But in that shop where I frequently play, they use DSL because the owner said it's a lot faster, which is actually true!

I remember the time when we once had our own personal computer at home, we planned to have it on Yahoo Dial-Up...

my dear lord, it took us several hours just to connect it to our modem. Is it the dial-up or just our modem? We do not know. In the end, I had always rented computers outside. It was definitely a lot faster.

Look at my pathetic broadband speed and this is in daytime when most people are at work. I've been thinking of changing my provider from TalkTalk to BT and hopefully that should improve things. I'm not expecting magical speeds like I get when visiting Belgium or other countries I've tried abroad, but just a good average and steady connection will be fine for now.

Anyone has fibre optic broadband and care to share their thought on it?

@above: Unless you have a network that can utilize fiber-optic, then its pointless. Just stick with an aDSL line.
