Dr. Stone - Chapter 96 Review by Seraph

Chapter Title: The Eye of Science

This Week's Chapter picks up at the Cliffhanger from last time where Senkuu and his friends had encountered a mysterious signal that turned out to be a morse code message repeating the same word over and over. Why. As Ukyo,Chrome,Ryusui and Gen ponder who or what exactly could be casting these super powerful radio waves, meanwhile Senkuu picks up the receiver and asks the mysterious Person if it was them that was behind Humanities Petrification 3,700 years ago and that he's looking forward to meeting them after all this time he spent petrified. Back in the Kingdom of Science we see Taiju and the others wonder about the mysterious signal they found while the 5 that had returned from the cruise called up a Strategy Meeting. Taiju,Francois and Kohaku put their trust into them as they are without a doubt the brightest minds among the Kingdom of Science's ranks, although Kohaku doubts that Chrome is just as smart.

Since Chrome, who doesn't know the particulars behind the Petrification,is present in the meeting Ukyo decides to tell him all about what happened "That Day" 3,700 years ago all until they broke out of their Petrification. Ryusui dubs the mysterious signal as "Why-Man",of whom he speculates that he most likely turned himself into Stone as well as the rest of Humanity otherwise there would be no way for him to have lived this long. Chrome asks his friends if this "Why-Man" is their enemy to which Senkuu responds that it's not impossible for him to be friendly but it would be for the best if they went in preparing for everything, meaning wether this person is friend or foe they'll be on guard for anything he/she may try. As Gen and Ukyo mention that this situation isn't exactly going in their favor as the Signal stopped when Senkuu responded and they have no means of finding an "invisible enemy" their backs seem to be against the Wall.

This gives Senkuu an idea as he plans to find their invisible foe with the "Eye of Science",he prepares some of the Rocks from Chrome's collection and a triangular flask and is asked by Kohaku if this will give them insight on the Why-man which Senkuu confirms resulting in shocking everybody. It's revealed that he brought Sphalerite from Chrome's which he gives the "Power Team" to pulverize it into fine powder, which he mixes with water to create fluorescent paint that is poured into the Flask he brought to coat it's bottom. As Kaseki created a vacuum in the tube,Suika switches the "Electron Beam" on and they speed up the Thermions in the vacuum tube with Electrodes, and if those are concentrated at the Bottom then it will cause the paint to light up at it's center. The Birth of the Display Screen. Cathode Ray Tube aquired!

As everybody is visibly confused about Senkuu's claim of having created a Display the Scientist explains to them the principle behind the "CRT" which is by having the beam move back and forth images can be created. This has to be done precise and accurately, left and right, top to bottom,TV's in the past have followed the same principle to show Movies and Shows on them. Chrome asks Senkuu how they'll move the beam with precise speed, again the Scientist has already an answer in mind which is the "Magic Crystal" Quartz! As Gen and Co. wonder if he is actually serious Senkuu replies that he is dead serious and this is 10 billion percent science no matter how different it sounded a few minutes ago. If you apply voltage to a sheet of Quartz it starts vibrating at an incredible speed, which is exactly what they need to get their super precise Electrowaves from the Quartz Crystal. By putting them between 2 sheets of Quartz the Electronbeams will end up moving the dot on the previously created display.

Chrome and some of the villagers are in awe as they watch their "Quartz Crystal TV",at the same time Ruri mentions how truly fascinating the ways of nature can be as one rock can create something like this. Senkuu agrees with her and states that understanding and appreciating it's Qualities are what Science does,Senkuu adds the finishing touches by putting longitudinal waves onto the display which picks Ukyo's attention. He states that as the sonar man among them he should've been the first to realize it, The "Eye of Science" that sees even invisible enemies is nothing other than Radar! The 5 of them set out once more to make use of their new invention,Senkuu states by changing the attachment from an antenna to a microphone they can even aquire underwater sonar which is Ukyo's specialty.

Senkuu states that no matter if he is on land,in the skies or underwater that they'll find him,the Why-man. Senkuu mentions that the first sign of Life he gave was a constant "Why" because he cannot believe that there are People alive in this age, hinting that he must be involved in one way or another with the Petrification. Suddenly Chrome spots a change in the waves of their underwater sonar and a large amount of it as well, which is revealed to be the other reason behind the creation of the underwater Sonar. Another reliable source of Food for their long voyage to the other side of the World, the underwater sonar is the perfect fishfinder. The Chapter ends as Ryusui makes a Monster Catch with a net full of fish. Radar and Sonar aquired!

I have to say i liked this Chapter a lot,the Why-man appearing was an out of the Blue surprise but a pleasant one at that. At least as long as it doesn't steer them away from the main goal which is to prepare and go onto their voyage. Though,if he/she really is involved with the Petrification then those 2 plotlines go hand in hand and we're sure to meet the reason and the Mastermind behind the Petrification quite "soon". I always thought the Petrification was man-made but not intentionally but more as in Science accident, but Senkuu's reasoning and the morse code message do hint at him/her having intentionally petrified all of Humanity or at least the ones on the Surface of the Earth. Which makes me wonder what the reason behind it was.
I'd rate this Chapter an 8 out of 10. I'm not sure what to guess as for next time since Dr. Stone always surprises me with something else entirely but i hope we get to see them resume their preparations for their Voyage while still tracking the Why-man.

Dr Stone Chapter 97 Review by Emperor Spriggan

The chapter cover has Ryuusui on it, who is increasingly becoming one of the core characters in the series. Quite an incredible thing when you realize how recently he was introduced. As for the chapter title, it is 'Fun with Kingcraft.'

Using the sonar from the last chapter, Senkuu and the gang find a way to travel to the other side of the earth and discover the mystery person who is behind the strange voice. Senkuu is excited at the prospect of finally discovering the mystery person, but Gen looks worried about something. He is unusually silent about the whole matter, and doesn't offer his opinion at all.

They head back to the village with a huge overhaul of fish in tow. Francois wastes no time, immediately moving to work as she prepares the fish into something more edible. Ryuusui makes a mention that you can use sonar to see right through anything. That draws the attention of both Ginrou and Chrome.

Ginrou wonders out loud whether it can see through girl's clothes. Senkuu dismisses this, and Kohaku is appalled by how perverted Ginrou is. The pervert believes Chrome had the same thoughts as him regarding perversion, but Kaseki thinks otherwise. There is a concern that the sonar might not be able to be functional for extended periods of time due to the output of power. The need for developing an engine is brought up, something that Kaseki is excited to be part of.

Senkuu explains that they need a massive amount of metal and oil in order to make engines. The river cannot exactly provide that with the iron ore it contains. At this point, we realize that Chrome had previously thought about using the radar in order to see right through the earth. That would help in order to find minerals and gems. He adds some adjustments to the sonar that allow it to emit radio waves, before taking off.

Chrome heads to the mountain where they first captured lightning before generating electricity, intending on unearthing magnetite. After a lengthy and fruitless search, he finally manages to get a response from the pseudo metal detector. Senkuu and the others had gone out looking for Chrome earlier, and he shouts at them to come where he is.

Senkuu is impressed by Chrome's creativity to think of a solution like that. He also praises Chrome for discovering a large supply of magnetite. Good guy Chrome. Compared to what happened when they were on the hot air balloon in the sky, I feel as if this is a more natural and well done way of giving him the spotlight. We always knew he was fascinated by discovering rocks and the like. Having him be the one to find magnetite is fitting especially when he had also discovered it when he was younger.

Without wasting time, construction of the factories commences. Chrome is extremely proud of his achievement, and Senkuu acknowledges his sentiment over how Science is amazing. Ryuusui states that with the society about to be heavily industrialized, one person alone can't bear all that on his shoulders. They need a natural leader who will be able to command everyone's strength. Gen states that the leader of the Kingdom of Science is already perfect, so he would be someone everyone would enjoy. Amusingly, Senkuu, Chrome and Yo are riding a mine cart and relishing at how fun it is.

The chapter was decent enough. Nothing particularly ground breaking happened, well aside from Chrome getting the spotlight. But otherwise, nothing else of note really stood out. In all honesty, I am a bit frustrated that the author decided on yet another detour. Couldn't we just focus on the voyage to the other side of the world? They are making factories, but with Senkuu and the others leaving, who is going to watch over them? None of the villagers are skilled enough to be able to operate factories, so this is a bit silly in hindsight. About why Gen looks pensive in this chapter, I think his thought process is also going along the same path. A bit similar to Tyrion in Season 7 of Game of Thrones. He was worried what would happen if Daenerys ended up dying in war since there would be no one to carry the reigns forward. Gen is probably worried about the Science kingdom's overdependence on Senkuu, since if something ended up happening to him everyone else would be lost. All just speculation though, but let's see what happens next chapter.

Dr. Stone Chapter 98 Review by Belserion

Chapter Title: Ryusui

Summary:

After last week’s discovery of the mine, the villagers set about paving the roads from the mine into the river in order to make it easier to transport their heavy cargo. Ukyo states that the world is becoming more modernized now with the discovery of oil, which is true. It’s starting to look like civilization. After a brief explanation on how to make the asphalt, Senkuu cautions them that it’s not the whole village area that’s going to be paved, only the road leading from the mine to the river, where they would then take the cargo to the village via speedboat.

Ginrou tells them to leave the transporting of the cargo to the Water Tribe, which annoys Kinrou who asks when the last time Ginrou even rowed a boat was. Ryusui is excited because he recalls that the Nanami Corporation got their start in the Edo Period with cargo vessels. While the villagers praise Kaseki’s boat building skills that have been instrumental in helping them navigate the river for years, Kaseki calls Senkuu and admits that he’s having problems building the ship. He puts it down to lack of advanced specialized techniques. Yo suggests reviving a shipwright but they don’t know where they would even find one in modern day Japan. Senkuu said if they had more time they could have gone through a series of trial and error, but now that there’s the “Why-man” to contend with they have to move quickly. Senkuu decides they have to change plans from a big ship to a smaller sailboat and limited crew. The group doesn’t like to hear this because they were all looking forward to going on the ship. Kaseki laments on the fact that he has to give up on his darling ship but Ryusui goes into denial.

We now get a flashback of someone, presumably Ryusui’s uncle, telling a young Ryusui that he needs to learn when to give up on things. We also see Francoise telling young Ryusui about his allowance cut with the maids in the background wondering how old Francoise is because she looks exactly as she does right now. Ryusui laughs and states that he will never give up, he doesn’t know the meaning of those words. Until he gets his hands on what he wants he’s going to keep at it. We see Ryusui pushing himself to make money, to make his body stronger, all at elementary school level. This continued as he grew up. Whenever he wanted something and it was denied him, he found another way to achieve it on a bigger, better scale. While he was doing all this, the members of his family and the Company’s Board of Directors wrote him off as a debauched playboy that was bringing shame on their good name. Francoise was asked what she thought of Ryusui, and after a moment of hesitation where her boss encouraged her to speak her mind, Francoise speaks in defense of Ryusui saying that instead of giving up, he proclaims loudly what he wants and perseveres until he achieves it, much to the shame of everyone listening. I guess they thought that as a servant she would blindly agree with them despite being urged to speak freely.

Francoise has been with Ryusui from the start, encouraging him and learning not only about him but about his desires which he proclaims have no end goal, reminding her that he’s the greediest man in the world. The flashback ends with Ryusui stating that he’s built a model A 1:48 motorized sailing vessel and that one day he would find someone to help him make the real thing, someone he can trust and who’s worthy of teaming up with him. He tells the villagers that he will make a model of the ship they will build and with Kaseki’s skill they could modify what’s already been started, telling Senkuu they can pull it off. Senkuu says as long as they have an obsessed model ship maker like Ryusui who can create the model with ten billion percent accuracy then he agrees. Ryusui promises to whip up a dream ship and then some. While Gen wonders how much it will cost them, Ryusui assures him that it’s free as long as they don’t give up.

The chapter ends with Suika feeling confident that with Senkuu and Ryusui working together anything is possible, because Desire is Noble.

This chapter felt like a character profile so I’m not going to rate it. We learn that Ryusui has always been ambitious and works hard to get what he wants even though to the world he might come off as a debauched playboy. We also learn that Francoise has had his back from the beginning and has not wavered in her loyalty. So now it seems like they’re really going to put everything into building the ship, since there’s now an urgency to find the “Why-man” and solve the mystery of the petrification. A nice chapter overall.

Dr. Stone - Chapter 99 Review by Seraph

Chapter Title: The Kingdom of Science's Photo Journal

This Weeks Chapter feels more like a Photostory,Why you ask? Because our Reporter Minami has made it her duty to follow and record every step they take on their road of completing their Ship for the Voyage to find the Origins of the Petrification Ray,she'll be using the Camera created by Senkuu for that. We are shown a picture of Ryusui and Kaseki first, the former comments on his choices for design and means to load and unload their cargo as well as his plans to add a Shipdeck Casino which annoys Gen as he was about to praise his skill and talent. Next Up we have Pictures of Suika drawing while using a Pantograph, mimiking her drawing. It is to test wether they'll be able to produce a bigger version of it in order to draw a Logo onto their sails i think. Said and done,a 48x Pantograph Magnifier has been produced more than a hundred times the size of the one Suika was using. It weighs about 50kg,and Taiju is the one using it.

As Kohaku and Co. celebrate that they already cleared half of the necessary steps to create their Ship, they start wondering what they need next to which Senkuu tells them that they need Time more than anything else, that is first and foremost because of the Engine for the Ship that still has to be created as well as the ship hull. It may take Months,Ukyo mentions that once Winter comes their pace will slow down and Ryusui welcomes it as they will only need Patience and will be able to enjoy Winter by getting the Villagers into Winter Sports. A picture with Ryusui while snowboarding is shown and it is revealed that their Snowboards and Skis were made with Carbon, naturally,an "easy" process for our Mastermind Senkuu. Another Picture shows us Chrome and Ruri, the latter handing him a piece of Chocolate. You guessed it,they are celebrating Valentines Day though Gen has masked these "Events" under the banner of "raising everybody's Morale" as seen when Ryusui carries Chocolate on a Plate for everybody even the Kids.

Chrome wonders why Minami took so many pictures of them just playing around when there was progress being made on the Ship, she answers that their daily lives matter as well which Kinro agrees by saying they haven't been working too much on the Ship the last time anyway. Francois tells them that playing around is a part of work as well,Minami mentions that she found it important as this may be their last time to- and she stops resulting in everybody looking on confused. She apologizes and promises to take lots of Pictures, she invites everybody to write some captions to them which Senkuu thinks is a good idea while Gen mentions that it's reminiscent of a Girl's Photo Booth he once visited. As Yuzuriha spots a cute handwriting she wonders if it was Mirai that wrote it but is surprised to hear that it was actually Nikki, and just as Yo is about to laugh he is dealt with by her immediatly.

Senkuu has written a caption as well,on a picture of him and Kaseki creating and using 3 of the greatest furnaces of the past, however he went and wrote down a complete scientifically touched method of how to create them onto the Picture stunning Gen as that was not what he had imagined. The furnaces are necessary for them to transform their "Tier 1 Metals" into "Super High Quality Steel",which is necessary for the Ship's engine otherwise it'll blow up on them first thing they know. Another set of pictures is presented showing Senkuu creating and improving a Lathe,he mentions that at this point if they lack patience they won't advance,it's important to take things slowly but steady. Another Couple of shots, this time of Yo,Kinro and Ginro looking for bugs as well as Kohaku,Ruri,Yuzuriha and Chrome at the Beach are shown. The latter four are trying the first Swimwear of their Creation out, enjoying Summer. The bath suits are made out of silk and feel very soothing as Ruri says, naturally,Ginro would like to touch it to confirm this statement earning him shock from Kinro.

We see Kohaku swimming in the background,so fast that the camera could not capture her which prompts Gen to say that she might become the prime example of Spirit Photography in their Civilization. The work on their Ship continued and so did Minami's Journal. Senkuu says that an entire year has passed and they finally completed their Ship,Ryusui and Co. wonder about the silence of the Why-man while celebrating their new achievement for their Kingdom. Minami looks on wistfully, saying that this is where they part ways, she asks to take another picture of the Group before their adventure begins. As Senkuu asks how many more she wants to take he is met by a tearful response from Minami, saying that this is the last time that they are together and they'll never see each other again. Gen looks on while thinking to himself that Minami is the only one that actually knew everybody by face and name so it's natural that she wanted to have pictures as solidified Memories to look at whenever she wants.

Senkuu tells her that he has no idea what she is talking about but with 10 Billion Percent certainty will they find out the Origins of the Petrification and with the same amount of certainty will they meet again and safely return from their Voyage, bringing a smile on Minami's face. She insists that they take this one picture together regardless,Francois has anticipated a scenario like this and had Kaseki build a Camera Timer Device so Minami would not be left out of the picture. All of them gather for the picture and as Minami tells them to smile we are shown all of the Villagers as well as Senkuu's Team in front of their newly completed Ship. It is September 10th,the year is 5741, the construction of the motorized sailboat "Perseus" was completed. The Name is a reference to the Hero of Greek Mythology, the Son of Zeus and Danaë.

This Chapter was really nice,i liked the emotional touch it had with Minami and the Groups chemistry getting better and better over their completed trials and hardships in the Kingdom of Science. I had been waiting for awhile on the ship to be constructed, but with the creation of Sonar and Radar as well as the Why-man appearing that sort of went down under. Then we had Ryusui's Character Profile in the Last Chapter that made me feel like things were getting intentionally drawn out, which just doesn't have to be when you know where the story is supposed to be going and have made that somewhat clear to your readers as well. Oh well,i got what i wished for and i'm happy about it since i'm really looking forward to this Voyage and of course the Why-man's role in all this. He hasn't made a move in the year it took them to build the Ship so he is definitely aware and perhaps afraid of them. I'd rate this Chapter an 8.5 out of 10. I look forward to next time for sure.

Dr. Stone Chapter 100 Review by Belserion

Chapter Title: Origin of the 100 Tales

This week’s chapter begins with everyone exclaiming over the completion of the ship called Perseus. Perseus is a fitting name because that was the name of a hero in Greek Mythology who defeated the Gorgon Medusa who had the ability to turn people into stone. It’s also a bittersweet moment because now that the ship is completed it’s time for them to split into two groups. The Globe Trotting Team that will solve the petrification mystery and the Civilization Team that will stay behind.

Ryusui gives a speech about wishing he could take all of them which Senkuu interrupts by pointing out that humanity would go extinct if the ship sank not to mention it doesn’t have enough space for everyone. Ryusui continues by pointing out the dangers of the mission stating that some of them might not make it back, so even if their name was on the list they were free to refuse to go. Everyone is taking this very seriously, feeling insulted that Ryusui would even think they’d refuse. Ginrou doesn’t agree as he’s secretly hoping he doesn’t get chosen. Senkuu and Gen interrupt again stating they’ll trick everyone on the list into coming along, even though Gen also secretly hopes he’s not chosen. Ryusui points out that while he has no doubt they could do that, if there was anyone unwilling on the voyage they might endanger the ship.

Ryusui proceeds to call out the names of the chosen. First the Engineers: Senkuu, Chrome Kaseki, and Yuzuriha who is surprised she’s considered an engineer. Ryusui confirms she is in charge of the sails, which makes sense since she helped make them with her sewing skills in the first place. I was surprised Kaseki was chosen simply because of the length of the voyage and his age. Maybe I’m underestimating him though. Next up on Sonar and Radar is Ukyo, which was pretty obvious. The Ship’s Cook is none other than Francoise. Then we have the Power Team: Taijuu, Yo, Magma, Nikki, Kinrou, Ginrou and Kohaku among others, who don’t even wait for their names to be called before excitedly boarding the ship. Well Ginrou wasn’t so excited because he thinks a trip to the other side of the world is too dangerous for him. Ryusui stops his panic by reminding him it’s a choice and he only wants willing crew members. Ginrou opts to stay behind. Surprisingly Kohaku does as well but for a more selfless reason. She’s worried that with the power team gone, the prisoners Homura and Hyouga might escape and with no one to stop them they will take over Japan. Much to everyone’s surprise it turns out they’re also on the ship in a cage. Senkuu explains that it’s no trouble hauling them along and while it’s risky, there might come a time when they would need to play their strongest cards. This is some foreshadowing I think.

Gen attempts to rally the remaining villagers to say farewell to the chosen, when Ryusui tells him to stop playing dumb since he’s the last on the list. Gen asks if they really want to take frail, weak, lil ole him along, and Senkuu tells him with the enemies unknown they don’t want to regret not having their mentalist around. Gen is resigned to his fate stating if they’re attacked he prefers to be with Senkuu’s Science Empire anyway since they’re the safer bet.
The ship finally sets sail with everyone wishing them a good trip and begging them to come home some day. Tsukasa’s sister reminds them that her brother is counting on them. As the villagers watch the ship sail in the distance, Kinrou sadly laments that he’s always known what sort of man his brother was. Ginrou suddenly dives off the cliff into the water, begging Kinrou and the others to wait for him. He says that no matter how risky it is he wants to fight for everyone’s sake. Everyone is in awe of his bravery and he wonders if they’re getting a good look at his dramatic, passionate change of heart, even silently urging them to take pictures. Turns out this is all a ploy and that he’s counting on the waves and distance to drown out his screams so that not even Ukyo can hear him. He’s doing it to get girls, figuring they’ll remember his bravery and that he at least tried to go on the voyage and he’s not like some of the cowards that stayed behind. He is actually daydreaming about this scenario where the girls are clinging lovingly to an older, more ripped version of him.

Senkuu is always ten steps ahead though, and urges Ukyo to point the radar in Ginrou’s direction because he has a hunch. When they pick up something, they wonder if it’s the Why man but Senkuu says someone is trying to catch up with the ship to come aboard. To Ginrou’s shock, Taijuu jumps overboard and pulls him back onto the Ship. Everyone is happy and admits to underestimating Ginrou, minus Kinrou, who claims to have believed in his brother all along. While they celebrate him being there, he sits in shock, calling science a pain in the butt since his plan backfired so horribly.

Senkuu eventually halts the festivities by proclaiming the first destination on their mission is a Treasure Island where they would retrieve a Godly item that would help save humanity. The Island where his dad and his friends made their emergency landing. The place where the astronauts and Soyuz capsule slumber. The place where the 100 Tales began.

This chapter was good. 8/10. The team has finally set sail. I’m happy about this because things have been slow with the manga recently. So hopefully this is the start of many great adventures. The ones chosen were pretty obvious but still the confirmation was nice to watch.

One thing I took special notice of was the Hyouga/Homura situation where Senkuu thinks he can just use them as he sees fit. I mean if he plans to have them join the adventure eventually, he’s going to have to start softening them up. Hyouga especially is very prideful and I have a feeling he won’t help them without proper incentive. It reminds me of the Aizen situation in Bleach where they encountered such a powerful enemy that they had to release Aizen for a little while to help them. Only a monster can kill a monster and all that. So that’s a development I’m looking forward to seeing.

Dr. Stone - Chapter 101 Review by Seraph

Chapter Title: Treasure Box

This Week's Chapter of Dr. Stone continues on a high wave because Senku's Science Crew is taking course for the Treasure Island,Takarajima. They are finally setting sail in order to save the rest of Humanity, naturally there are some doubts about this high goal set by their Scientist since they will need a huge amount of Revival Fluid for this to happen and even with the Cave of Miracles still intact it took a couple of days to gather enough fluid to revive a single Person as mentioned by Taiju. Senku replies that they're indeed way past relying on Mother Nature if this is supposed to work, which is why they are going to Takarajima to find a God-Tier item which will allow them to produce an infinite amount of Revival Fluid. It is stowed away in a very special treasure chest,a statement that motivates everyone bar Gen who is as always more skeptical and confused by Senku's announcement.

A flashback starts to 3,700 years ago where we see Byakuya,Senku's Father, offer his wedding ring to be put into the Treasure Chest. At their time the Diamond on the ring is nothing but a sturdy mineral but it'll be worth something in the future which makes it worth saving it for Future generations. The astronauts start throwing any sort of minerals and jewellery that they have with them into various bottles, waiting for their time to come. The location of the treasures will be passed down by them onto their Children and from them to their own Children so the Scientists of the Future will find them and use them to Humanity's benefit. We skip ahead in time to 3,700 years in the future after the Village Games,Senku is asking Ruri to tell him the 100 Tales in their entirety. Ruri doesn't mind telling the 100 tales to him but she wonders if he really is prepared for them, she starts with her tales.

After an entire Night had passed,Gen made his way to Senku and Ruri while carrying something to drink for them. He wonders if they're holding up well since they've been at it an entire night, before he arrives in Ruri's room he hears her telling Senku about Poisonous Fishes and concludes that this must be the series on Poisons. He praises Byakuya for having left behind a huge amount of knowledge and wisdom to the future generations of Ishigami Village allowing it to survive for decades, however,to his shock Ruri has only finished telling the 7th tale and Senku has almost passed out asking for a break.
Senku jokingly states that perhaps the 100 tales were the reason that Ruri collapsed from her Pneumonia to which she replies that it is the duty of a holy maiden to recite these tales over her entire lifetime.

Senku asks her to tell him all the passages that involve any sort or form of minerals,he knows that his Father must have left something behind regarding Minerals since nearly all of the Villagers are named after minerals. Ruri grants Senku's request and tells him about any passages involving Minerals and starts with Amber which in japanese translates into the word "Kohaku" but to the Villagers it is only known as a Mineral that has the same color as the Sun. She proceeds to tell Senku about Gold which translates into "Kin",there is no Villager named after Gold but someone with gold in their Name: It is Kinrou whose name translates into Golden Wolf. Similarly Ginrou's name translates into Silver Wolf,Ruri proceeds to tell Senku about Diamond which she was told that it is a clear sparkling Mineral of immense hardness and as the minerals mentioned before it too slumbers within the treasure chest.

Senku asks her about Platinum with a confident smile on his face,Ruri replies that Platinum is a mineral that is much more rare than Gold. Back in the present Senku reveals that with just a tiny piece of Platinum they can create an infinite amount of Nitric Acid by using it as a Catalyst,Taiju comments that this fact really makes it a god-tier item as described by Senku while Kohaku questions if Chrome didn't have any in his Collection to which the latter replies that he'd be super lucky was that the case. Senku says that the original process was far too slow and even though they could produce it little by little they should hold of on that thought, the reason being explained by their Mentalist Gen: The amount of People that can properly work within a group is 150,that is the limit of the Human brain's capacity when it comes to recalling and keeping up mutual relationships with others.

Gen states that even the Military works under this concept by dividing their Manpower into Squads of 150 People at most, the mentalist questions his fellow Crew Members just how many People are part of the Kingdom of science to which Yo and the Village Chief reply that Ishigami Village originally had about 40 People living in it and that Tsukasa's Empire had a population of at least 100 people. As these are vague estimates Gen rounds it up to a 150 People population,he also reveals that he adviced Senku to not increase their numbers any more than they have due to this concept which earns him praise from Ukyo. If Senku was to create Revival Fluid by the original method then many Villagers or people of the Past would want to decide who gets revived first and who last which could result in another disaster like Tsukasa or Hyouga all over again.

Senku states that if they aquire Platinum then this fear factor becomes void as there won't be a limit to the amount of people possible to revive anymore, they could free all of Humanity from their Petrification at once. Back at the Kingdom of Science we see Ruri recite the Tale about Platinum:
"Platinum. A Mineral also known as White Gold,it is a sparkling ore with the color of the Moon. It slumbers within the treasure Chest."
Chrome wonders where exactly the treasure Chest is hidden,Ukyo adds that even if there is a treasure like that what container or chest could possibly withstand the test of time and nature for thousands of years to which Senku replies that it is the Spacecraft Soyuz as there doesn't exist anything with more defense and better constitution. A perfect treasure chest.

The Crew concludes that if they find this treasure chest they'll achieve their goal, which is literally what Senku has been trying to say the entire time,a funny moment, Kohaku says that even if they don't know where it is hidden they can just use Human Wave Tactics to find it. They're ready for this Adventure to find the treasure of Takarajima. Suddenly one of the Power Team's Members enters the Room, asking for Gen,he is of tall stature and has a scar similar to a cross on a treasure Map on the top of his head. He looks visibly shocked,Gen states that he has something to tell Senku who recognizes him from the Crew List they made before. Nobody can remember his name, which as Kohaku states is no surprise as he does not have a Name and even on the List he is stated as "Nameless". The Nameless Passenger is fine with any name given to him but reveals that originally he isn't from Ishigami Village.

He reveals that when he was a Baby he drifted along the shore waters of the Village and was found by his Village Parents who initially lied to him saying that he is their son. But he knows that his real name is "Soyuz",for some reason he feels like he's capable of guiding them to his birthplace and by extension the treasure chest they're after. Something Taiju gets excited about. Senku says that wether this is good or bad news is left to be seen but they just got their hands on 10 billion percent reliable and certain Information: The Island Takarajima is not deserted at all, there are people living on it and perhaps protecting the Treasure Chest. He is grateful for these wonderful news. The Chapter ends with the Crew of Science spotting Takarajima on the horizon, their adventure to save Humanity begins now!

This Chapter was great,Dr. Stone gets back into high gear at full force it seems as we learn that there are indeed other Humans outside of Ishigami Village. It was a sudden and rather convenient reveal from Soyuz but i'm fine with it,what i have more grieves with would be how he remembers and knows of these particulars when he was just a Baby. He claims to be able to guide them to Takarajima but he was only a baby when he drifted along the sea,he claims that his real name is "Soyuz" which he shouldn't actually know if he was really just a baby raised by adoptive Parents. Which leads me to believe that there was some sort of note attached to him when he was found explaining all this or he really does remember these things,as far as i know there are rare cases of Humans that remember their entire Life even from when they were still babies with all particulars so perhaps he is one of the blessed? We'll probably learn how he does remember/know all this soon enough. The new Characters we're going to meet might bring a surprise for us,mostly regarding their names since Ishigami Village names its Villagers after minerals and Takarajima seems to name them after Objects as well or give them actual names. Perhaps we'll meet a descendant of Senku's Father having Ishigami as his last name? It would be a weird moment, especially for Senku. Either way i'm looking forward to it for sure,i'm giving this Chapter a clean 8.5 out of 10.

Dr. Stone Chapter 102 Review by Belserion

Chapter Title: Perseus, Ship of Science

This chapter picks up with the surprise revelation that there are survivors outside of the Ishigami Village. While Ukyo and Gen lament Senkuu’s bad luck, since a deserted island would have served their purpose better, Chrome is still skeptical since all of humanity was supposedly turned to stone. The group deduces that they must be descendants of Senkuu’s father and his crew. The wish of the great founder embedded in the 100 tales bid the people of the Treasure Island to make it to Japan someday, so it’s quite possible that some brave members of the village set out to sea like our heroes are currently doing, and as Chrome says, they were the ones that founded the current Ishigami village. The ones that remained behind on the Island continued to prosper and reproduce and are the current inhabitants of it.

While hoping the villagers will be friendly, if not Magma assures them that they’d wipe them out much to Taijuu’s exasperation, Chrome raises an important point. What if the Why-Man is a part of that village? Gen finds this a valid question because of the scarcity of humans at the moment. Ukyo however counters that they would have to be in possession of advanced technology to send out the radio waves, and Ryusui agrees. If they had such advanced technology no way would they be content to stay on their island, they would want to explore the world.

Soyuz admits that he always wanted to know about his real people and even attempted to set out to sea a few times in order to find them, only to be pushed back by storms. Senkuu assures him that it's normal and curiosity is what drives science. Soyuz tells them he rowed, sometimes for days, with no sight of the island, but the ship will surely reach it now. He’s overcome by emotion since he will finally get to sort his origins, with the support of his fellow Kingdom of Science citizens.

After realizing they were going fast enough to get to the island within hours, everyone praises the Perseus for an amazing ship with Yuzuriha wondering how it all works. Despite Kohaku’s warning to be careful not to excite the boys, they all descend on Yuzuriha, ready to boast about the ship and its features. Assuring them she’s used to it since she once sat through a 5 hour lecture on rockets, she proceeds to get a tour of the ship. She’s shown the Engine Room, the Communications Room, Emergency Exits, the lab etc. Ginrou, Yo and some other members of the Power Team are suffering seasickness despite their boasts of being from a Water Tribe. Senkuu manages to get them some medicine from a poisonous plant, Datura Metel or Devil’s Trumpet, and urges them to lie down or get to work.

Soyuz and Ukyo are staring at the lab and Soyuz mentions not even a storm could slow the ship down, probably still reminiscing about all his failed trips. Ginrou boasts that the water tribe fears no Storm, despite being seasick not so long ago. Ryusui cautions them the the weather is like a person wronged and can change at the drop of a hat. This turns out to be a premonition because suddenly the weather does change and they find themselves in the middle of a raging storm. Everyone panics, but Ryusui drinks tea, assuring them that as long as he’s their captain everything will be fine and urges them to stay calm. Senkuu rushes on deck and they think he’s panicking but he’s not. He wants to use the storm to spy on the Island since they don’t know if the inhabitants are friendly. Everyone assumes their posts, mainly the GPS, Telescopes and Radar are ready.

The Island suddenly comes into view, bringing Soyuz to tears because he’s never forgotten the look of his homeland. Senkuu mentally tells his father that they’ve finally made it to his island and whatever awaits them is reason enough to get excited. The chapter ends as they approach the Island.

This was a nice chapter. 7/10 since nothing too spectacular happened. I think the real fun will start next chapter as they infiltrate the Island. It’ll be nice to see if they remember Soyuz since he left them as a baby. Perhaps the mark on his head will be a sign for them. Also it seems this is the place Byakuya and his crew landed and not Ishigami village as originally thought. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming reveals because I doubt it’s going to be a simple in and out job for our heroes. There’s also the small possibility that the Why-Man is there, because if that’s the original Island Byakuya was on and he had scientists with him, perhaps they had some sort of technology Senkuu isn’t aware of. We will see soon.

Dr. Stone - Chapter 103 Review by Seraph

Chapter Title: The Light of Hope and Despair

What is our course Captain Ryusui? "Straight ahead towards Treasure Island of course!" How is the Weather, Scientist Senkuu? "Stormy waves,Rain, very windy but with 10 Billion percent certainty the perfect cover for our approach to the Treasure Island!". And with that said we'll kick off this week's Chapter Review of Dr. Stone!,last week our Science Crew made their way towards the Treasure Island under the cover of a sudden Storm at sea. Thanks to everybodies combined efforts and skills things went off smoothly, this week they'll go on land and i invite you all to join me as i break down this Chapter that had me gasp for Air like a fish out of the Water. The Hype was too strong, curious what i'm talking about? Then tag along as i break down this Chapter until no more questions remain.

As the Treasure Island becomes clearer and clearer to see,Chrome feels confident that their Crew is ahead of the inhabitants of the Island in terms of Science and Technology something which Kohaku questions because there is no way of telling that just yet but at the very least Senkuu can reassure them that whoever lives on Treasure Island does not possess Radar or Sonar like they do because was that the case they had tracked them down already. He continues that thanks to Ukyo's skills and expertise they have nothing to worry about, meanwhile we see Ukyo noticing something on his station...Perhaps a sign of Life? The Perseus slowly approaches the Islands shoreline and is ready to anchor. Ryusui praises the Crew for their efforts and wants to reward them each with 10.000 Drago, which raises the morale of the entire crew. Meanwhile Magma and Yo are trying to enter the Island ahead of everybody else, intending to take the treasures and kill the Natives of the Island but they are quite efficiently "stopped" by Nikki.

Senkuu announces that the first to enter the Island are the "Reconaissance Team",it's clear that this Team will not be large in number as it is to infiltrate the unknown grounds and if possible find the Treasure Chest with the Platinum inside without asking the Natives for it's whereabouts. To our surprise Suika is on the ship as well, the team has 4 Members who are as follows: Senkuu, because only he can tell which of the Minerals the Platinum is. Kohaku, for security and her perfect eyesight. Gen,for possible negotiations with the natives. And last but not least,Soyuz, the one and only native of Treasure Island that is with them. The Team sets out immediatly and climbs up the reef,Kohaku would've liked Ukyo to tag along as his hearing paired with her eyesight would've given them an edge on searching out the natives. But Ukyo is busy keeping an eye on movements he noticed on the seafloor.

Ryusui reveals that Suika has been on the Ship the whole time and scolds her reckless behaviour, and reminds her that they made up the Crew List for a reason. She starts crying but is quickly consoled by,and this surprised me a lot,Francois! She tells Suika that everything Ryusui has been doing and saying was for her own sake and safety,he can't risk the life of a child. Taiju raises her spirits by telling her that she can help him and the rest keep the Ship clean and ready for when the others return, meanwhile Ukyo stares at the sonar in a cold sweat. He calls out to the upper deck and asks for someone to check out the ocean floor,Ginrou volunteers for this as he has no motivation to clean the ship and just jumps into the water. He is 10 Billion percent sure that this is way better than cleaning, but he soon breaks out in shock as he finds countless petrified Statues underwater with frightened looks on their faces.

He notifies Ukyo and the others of this, the former is shocked to learn this but is told by Yo that this is pretty normal at this point but Ukyo immediatly tells him that this cannot be and he goes on to explain why. When the Petrification happened 3.700 years ago the Island was uninhabited,if that is the truth then when where the Statues that Ginrou saw turned into their present states? Suddenly Ryusui feels a stare in his neck and it comes from the cliff behind him,a mysterious person approaches the edge and as he does the Perseus Captain turns around asking only 1 Question: "Who the hell are you?".
Meanwhile over at Senkuu's side Kohaku noticed a bright light at the Ships location prompting Gen to call the Crew but to his surprise there is nobody answering their call. He blames it on them having poor reception out there. They split up,Senkuu and Kohaku keep looking for clues while he and Soyuz check the status of the Crew out from a higher point.

Said and done,as both reach a fairly higher hill Soyuz looks through the telescope and backs away in fear and shock which leads to Gen checking things out himself. The first thing he sees is a...petrified Ryusui, but not just that, the entire Crew has been petrified with scared and angry looks on their faces causing Gen to scream out in fear and panic. A bit away from the Ship we see Suika sitting in a tree, wondering what just happened,it is shown that she is actually crying because in the last moments before the Petrification happened Ryusui grabbed her and kicked her off the Ship to protect and save her. Meanwhile Senkuu and Kohaku stumble upon a clue,a discarded shell, which is proof for the natives to be nearby. As Kohaku wonders how they'll find them now she is met by an excited Senkuu who tells her that he'll force a revelation out of the "Crime scene". The Chapter ends with a microscope being shown, hinting that Senkuu is going to analyse the shell for clues next.

This Chapter was loaded with Hype and a perfect setup for what is about to go down here on Treasure Island, i give it a 9/10 , even though it is likely that our culprit is the Why?-man we have no certainty that it really is him but if it is him then we can tell that his research and technology that allows him to petrify People has come a long way because this time it did not affect the entire Planet but only a select area. The Perseus and it's Crew. I'm trying to connect the dots to what happened 3,700 years ago actually but i can't make sense of why he would petrify the entire Earth including himself(I mean, how else would someone with knowledge of the technology be alive at this point)?. Unless he absolutely had a goal that he could only fulfill in the future i can't make sense of his motivations. What is also suspicious and leaning towards this being someone else is that the light originally emitted from the other side of the Planet and that is where they originally wanted to go so the real culprit being on Treasure Island would be a big mile behind him. I think this guy here is an underling with some sort of Weaponry that emits these Petrification Rays at will, fueled by some weird fluid. His purpose on Treasure Island is to keep any possible treasure hunters away from the Platinum so there can be no Revival of Mankind someday i think, the goal seems to only work if a majority of the planets population is turned to stone. Last but not least,i'd like to praise Ryusui for his kind actions towards Suika this Chapter. He may be the greediest man alive but he is fair and generous as shown when he gave everyone a raise for a good job,he also showed that he can be selfless as shown when he saved Suika instead of himself or Francois before being petrified. Which proves that Francois was right, everything he does is for the Crew's sake and safety at this point. I love it.

Dr. Stone - Chapter 104 Review by Seraph

Chapter Title: CSI Men

This Week's Chapter of Dr. Stone starts off serious as Gen and Soyuz in utter shock and fear notify Senkuu of their sightings on the Perseus, the entire Crew has been petrified with angry or surprised looks on their faces! At least so it looks, unknown to them,Ryusui managed to save Suika by throwing her off the ship when he got petrified. Making her the sole "survivor" of the attack by the Why?-man. We can't see any of their conversation but as Senkuu hears the news he is visibly angry, while Kohaku is in shock. She immediatly rushes off to try and save the Crew but is stopped by Gen who predicted her reaction and tied a rope around her leg and the other end around his wrist to keep her from rushing off. She wonders why Gen wouldn't let her go to which he responds that even if she went there she'd just be turned to stone as well if the Enemy is still there.

Suddenly Soyuz covers in fear, telling his comrades not to go near the Ship because when he saw the petrified crew he remembered something else from when he was a Baby, seriously this guy's memory is something else ,everybody was running away from fear of being petrified and he was the only one to be sent away from Treasure Island. Senkuu concludes that while this may be rather few information it is worth a lot,as this means that there is an Enemy on the Island petrifying the entire Kingdom of Science-Crew as well as a "friendly" force trying to help them escape this fate by having scattered these shells they found in the last chapter on the ground to follow their trails. If they manage to find one friendly person on the island willing to show them where the Treasure Chest is they can create the Revival Formula as much as they want and can eventually save all of Humanity with this Method.

Kohaku tells Senkuu that whoever left the shells behind only took the good ones ready to be eaten with them and left the hard to eat and bad ones behind,Gen notes that this could indeed be a trail to follow for them,Senkuu replies that this could be a ten billion times easier way to reach the Treasure Chest than wandering around aimlessly over the Island. If they hurry up they can still catch up to the Mysterious Person, which shocks everybody, but Senkuu immediatly explains how he can know that which is because of the Green Bottle Flies. They have the ability to smell any carcasses within a 16 Kilometres wide area, considering the size of Treasure Island they should be able to gather almost immediatly after the shells have been dropped to the ground. The fact that they have gathered only now means that they have been dropped 10-20 minutes ago. Kohaku,Gen and Soyuz are in awe of Senkuu's conclusion.

The Scientist gets serious and reveals that it is "CSI Hero Time!",Science will them the location of their suspect,he readies some of his tools from one of his bags on his belt and starts his investigation immediatly. They grab a Pan and start a fire to erase any dirt and bacteria by heating the shells up,at the same time he dribbles a few drops of Cyanoacrylates onto them. An adhesive, which he also used when doing surgery on Tsukasa as we remember. When the adhesive gets heated vapor erupts from the shell,if you hold the shell into the vapor now and shine a blacklight onto it you can see the clear surface of the shell and by extension any fingerprints that have been put on it. Senkuu can now conclude, due to having knowledge of common traits and forms, who this fingerprint belongs to. A woman of medium height and medium build.

As Gen fakes interest in Senkuu's methods he is reminded by the Science Detective that it's about time for him to start profiling as he is the Mental Detective among them,he quickly gets to work as well by trying to give the group a clearer image of the suspect in question. He concludes that the suspect is not just a Woman but a younger and inexperienced Woman, because had it been an older and skilled person they would not have collected the bad shells in the first place while someone younger and likely to skip out on lessons would collect some and then discard the bad shells after inspecting them throughly. He notes that the woman dropped her shells while walking because she was carrying too many,it also wouldve proved difficult to brush the bushes aside with barely a hand free for her. She must be about 160 cm as she damaged one of the branches around that height.

And not just that...our Mental Detective also found a young girl's hair on the branch which is quickly collected by Senkuu as Evidence, and once that's done they'll put it into a centrifuge. As Gen wonders where he would've kept a centrifuge Senkuu points at Kohaku and says she was with them all the time,he puts the test tube into a bamboo container and hands it to Kohaku who starts flailing it around wildly and quickly to Gen and Soyuz shock. He takes out a newly aquired Microscope and starts investigating the components and finds out that these are pollen of a Lily, which don't grow at the coast meaning that the person lives near the mountains further inland! Kohaku praises Senkuu and Gen for their incredible teamwork and runs off to look for the girl with her incredible eyesight and by following the trails left behind. Shortly after she makes a sudden stop, asking the others to be quiet.

As the others reach her location,Kohaku gets ready to draw her blade while Soyuz tries to remember something's about the Population of Treasure Island again, while Gen and Senkuu weigh the likeability of how this girl in front of them found by Kohaku could very well be the Person that turned their friends into stone. Senkuu mentions that the only way to find out is to make contact, all or nothing. We finally get a look on the mysterious girls face and it is revealed that she has rather warm and charming yet at the same time mysterious and suspect air around her,she wears rather ceremonial clothing and has a big orb on top of her head garment. She also has hair reminiscent of the ancient greek creature Medusa, who was known to turn anyone running into her to stone. Suddenly 3 Warriors arrive in front of her going onto their knees and proposing to her simultaneously and curiously enough while Senkuu,Gen and Kohaku remain unfazed by this display Soyuz points out that she seems very cute to him.

This Chapter was really good,8/10 from me. I would've liked for Senkuu to stay a bit more realistic and serious about their situation actually,i mean yeah it makes sense to not let Kohaku run off alone since losing any more people wouldn't benefit them but then going off on their way and tracking this girl down only to confront her with everybody anyway despite admitting that she could be the culprit too? That's a bit risky for me to be honest,i didn't think of it before but after someone pointed out that she resembles Medusa a bit i couldn't help but check up on that and she really does seem to look like how Medusa is described in Ancient Greek Mythology. At least her hair and clothing, although she could always end up as a Priestess similar to Ruri that is meant to pass on some sort of message to the People arriving from Ishigami Village. I find this interesting because this could mean that the Why?-man is infact not a man but perhaps a Why?-woman? That'd be funny for me but also concerning,a spirited woman easy and quick to petrify anyone coming near her Island and its treasure won't be easy to outwit,so i really hope they'll put up a decent struggle before achieving their goal on the island.

Dr. Stone Chapter 105 Review by Belserion

Chapter Title: The Island’s Greatest Beauty

The chapter begins with Gen plotting to seduce the mysterious girl from last chapter to their side as she’s their only lead on the island to help find the platinum to create an unlimited supply of depetrification fluid. Gen sees this as an opportunity to show the full extent of his power as the mentalist, since it wouldn’t be easy to convert her, but they run into an unexpected obstacle in the form of her many admirers competing for her hand in marriage. Senkuu decides they’re better off watching how things unfold and waiting for now.

The mysterious girl, Amaryllis, is lost for words, admitting that she doesn’t know what to do in the face of their ardent admiration. The men try to put her at ease by complimenting her unparalleled beauty. Soyuz seems captivated by her as well, a fact Gen points out in the face of his obvious admiration. Amaryllis tells her admirers that she’s destined to join the master’s harem tomorrow and reminds them of what happens if they defy the master. We’re shown the underwater statues, which I guess means this master is the one responsible for petrifying the islanders and the crew of Senkuu’s ship.

As her admirers run away in defeat, Senkuu is vindicated in his choice to follow Amaryllis, as it’s now certain she’ll lead them to the big boss they need to defeat. Gen also points out that she might also lead them to the treasure they’re looking for since it seems they share a common enemy. Senkuu disregards the need for caution and just casually approaches Amaryllis asking about the Soyuz capsule, much to the surprise of his friends. Kohaku fully backs his approach, even volunteering to hold her at sword point if it meant they’d be able to depetrify their friends quicker. Amaryllis asks if they were sent by the master to get her although it was supposed to be tomorrow. Gen asks Soyuz if he knows who the master is, but Amaryllis mistakes Soyuz for the master and promptly confesses her undying love. When Soyuz faints away in shock she deduces that he’s not the master, despite being the only one of the strangers that looks like he might be from the village.

Kohaku points out Senkuu claiming he’s their chief to which Amaryllis repeats the same thing she did with Soyuz and confesses her undying love. She’s thwarted with her compliments since she doesn’t find Senkuu strong, and considers his eyes evil looking. She does see his intelligence which she points out in relief at finding a positive. As she tries to continue with her compliments Senkuu cuts her off demanding to know where the treasure is. Amaryllis is shocked that he can resist her “irresistible charms” when she’s so darned cute. Gen points out that until civilization is restored Senkuu is immune to those sorts of tactics. Gen then tries to claim that he’s really the master but Amaryllis doesn’t fall for it. Kohaku tells Gen if he’s that desperate for a hug she’ll give him one but he promptly rejects the offer saying he doesn’t want his bones broken.

Amaryllis tries to make small talk asking where they’re from when a shout comes from her village. They all race towards the sound only to find several men from the village with torches heading towards the palace to confront the master, most likely in hopes of saving Amaryllis from his clutches. Amaryllis points out that no matter how many of them there are they will be turned to stone in a flash. Kohaku thinks the only way to stop them is to cut them down but Gen stops her saying no one will help them if she attacks them. Senkuu suddenly pulls tear gas out of nowhere and unleashes it at the villagers. The remaining villagers thank Senkuu for stopping the riot and Amaryllis suddenly reveals she knows the secret to the petrifying beam. She goes on to admit that she had planned to sneak into the master’s harem in order to defeat “that jerk”. She turned herself into the island’s greatest beauty in order to save everyone. Now that she’s seen the effects of the tear gas she wants to go a different route and asks Senkuu to team up with her.

Thoughts:

I rate this chapter 7.5/10. It looks like there’s a new team member for Senkuu and the others. I just don’t know what to think of her to be honest. She’s saying all the right things but I can’t help but feel there’s something wrong here. How does she know the secret of the petrifying beam? Also it seems the master is from their village since she thought Soyuz was the master because of his resemblance to the villagers whereas Senkuu and co. look like foreigners. I’m not going to trust her just yet. There’s something off about the whole thing. Senkuu and co. should avoid telling her what village they're from, just in case this is some kind of plot.

Dr. Stone - Chapter 106 Review by Seraph

Chapter Title: The Secret of the Petrification

This Week's Chapter of Dr. Stone starts with a Flashback to when Amaryllis, the girl we met last time, was just 5 years old and playing with some of her friends. They wanted to board a kayak together to cross the ocean together, despite Amaryllis repeatedly warning them not to do it because of the Great Leaders Rules that state nobody is allowed to leave the island. Something her friends would make fun of her for,but her worries would proven to be justified because as soon as they headed out on the ocean another kayak was heading towards them at incredible speed with the great Leaders strongest Warriors on board. Their names are: Mozu,a muscular man of average height with bearing a rather arrogant smile and Kirisame,a beautiful Woman wearing an almost fully transparent dress with a rather cold expression. Mozu voices his disappointment at the Kids soon to be sealed fate as some of the girls on board seem rather cute to him and he can tell that Amaryllis in particular will be incredibly beautiful just 5 years down the road.

Kirisame tells him to save his analysis for the Harem Selection Meetings but is asked by Mozu if there is anything more to Life than just evaluating little cuties,i dislike this guy already ugh, something which his colleague calls him disgusting for but she already knew how he is. During their conversation Kirisame pulled out some sort of rope dart-like weapon but it's hard to say what it actually is because the moment she takes it out she starts flailing it around at incredible speed,as their dialogue ends she throws the weapon up into the air but her angle is a bit off which is why Mozu tells her to adjust it by giving more rope to it. As the Weapon reached a certain height it suddenly starts lighting up,and a flash of light similar to the one that petrified Senkuu and Co. 3,700 years ago appears. The Children immediatly form a "shield" to protect Amaryllis who was the youngest among their group. The scene cuts back to the current time where Senkuu and Gen discuss the "Light" that Amaryllis spoke of,which is without a doubt the same that petrified them once.

Kohaku wonders how Amaryllis managed to avoid the petrification and as she does,we switch back to when her friends are about to be petrified. As the Light closed in on them they got petrified one by one and even Amaryllis was about to be petrified but it only reached to a couple of her hair strands, meanwhile Kirisame announces that all of the targets have been successfully turned into stone but unknown to her as the light closed in on Amaryllis she grabbed her petrifying stands of her and tore them off to stop the process from spreading. She was very lucky that the light stopped right in front of her,as her kayak flipped over she took her chance and swam back to the coast. That's how she survived, now back to the present. Amaryllis explains that the Petrification is "Sorcery" that has been passed down through the Great Leaders Family for generations, but until she saw Mozu and Kirisame use the Weapon she believed only the Leader could use it and that's why everyone bent to his will and order.

Amaryllis explains that she wants to steal the Weapon from the Great Leader, and for that she'd like to get the help from Senkuu and his friends. She gets a bit flirty with the guys again but to no avail as it only works on Soyuz again,Senkuu reassures her that she doesn't need to pull this "act" since their interests align. Senkuu reflects on what Amaryllis told them and compares it to what everyone thought of the Petrification from 3,700 years ago, given what she said and how the Petrification was being used against the Tribes on the Island he concludes that the Petrification follows a pattern,or rules if you will which are:
1. It has an effective Range, that can be adjusted or is limited to the device/weapon it is used with.
2. In Weapon Form it has to be a Thrown Weapon, like a Rope Dart for example,so the User does not get petrified as well.
3. If you tear off an affected part you can break the chain reaction that occurs once the light shines on you.

Senkuu claims that if something follows a set pattern and rules then it is science and if they are up against science then they will not lose. Kohaku asks Amaryllis who and when the Great Leaders Warriors come to pick her up,which she replies that it is tomorrow and they will take any and every girl with them that is above 18 years of age and that they do not care if you're married or engaged. Amaryllis is certain she will get selected and reach the inner palace but her charms won't work against Kirisame the Female Warrior. Meaning that she needs a Cute Female Warrior at her side as well, the guys turn around in shock looking at Kohaku who is ready to take this mission by being selected as cute. Something Gen cannot get around to, Senkuu laughs and says that with science making Kohaku(Who is already pretty as it is) can become even more of a "Cutie". Senkuu is in charge of Science, Gen is in charge of the Psychology,Amaryllis is the Cosmetics Expert and Soyuz is the Test Subject to work her charms on. The "IT Factor" Project begins!

This Chapter still doesn't exactly make me trust Amaryllis but at the very least i'm leaning more towards her being legit,i mean, she could've still made this story up and is secretly working for the Great Leader. After all,she did not even shed a tear or anything for her past and still petrified Friends when telling the story while she went and faked tears to reject her admirers before. Feels a bit iffy to me but it could also be that she more or less accepted her friends fate, but at the same time i don't get her plan to steal the Petrification Weapon since that won't give her a solution on how to save everybody from the petrification. But at least nobody else will be petrified then, although i strongly believe the Great Leader can mass create these Weapons when he wants to.
What i found interesting about this Weapon is that the entire Island seems to be under the impression that it is "Sorcery" passed down through the Great Leaders Family, that makes me think that he is really is from 3,700 years ago and came to the Island to keep anyone from reaching the Spacecraft because since Amaryllis hasn't said a word about it yet we can guess that it is with the Great Leader and under his protection at the moment. I also feel like their Journey will continue after Treasure Island towards the other side of the World because i think that this "Family" of the Great Leader is nothing but the Group of People behind the Petrification back then and is now creating these Weapons for themselves to petrify anyone in their way and exercise strict control over their given area of Authority. Which leads me to believe that the petrification 3,700 years ago was to give this Group/Person the control over the World, one of the oldest ambitions for a villain to have but it is incredibly executed in this case if it's true i'd say. Like really. I'd rate this Chapter a 8.5 out of 10.

Dr. Stone Chapter 107 Review by Belserion

Chapter Title: Ace in the Hole on the Ship of Science

This week Senkuu and his remaining crew are planning to take the petrification weapon from the master, but it’s a mission only Kohaku can accomplish. With the help of Amaryllis, they plan to give Kohaku a makeover that will be sure to get her picked for the master’s harem in the upcoming selection. Kohaku tries on a dress which she finds comfortable enough but difficult to move in. While the others are trying to help her prepare for a beauty contest, Kohaku is focused more on the practical side of things, like being able to maneuver and fight once she’s in enemy territory. After scolding her about a sword and shield not being suitable accessories, Gen tells her that changing clothes is simple, but it’s the scientific makeup that will be the real challenge. Senkuu bursts his bubble by informing him he would need the lab for that task. The lab is currently on the petrified ship, so getting to it might be a bit of a problem.

From the top of an incline, Senkuu notes that the enemy has already hijacked the ship, even acknowledging that they weren’t complete idiots. High praise from someone like Senkuu indeed. Kohaku is angry at seeing their petrified friends, but while Gen shares her sentiments, he cautions against a direct attack. An older man on a boat approaches the ship and Senkuu asks Amaryllis if he is the master. Amaryllis tells him the master is younger and identifies him as Minister Ibara, someone who consults with the master and relays orders to everyone else.

Minister Ibara compliments Kirisame on finding such a magnificent vessel in the Perseus, noting the Master will be please with such a gift. Kirisame doesn’t share his enthusiasm and admits that they don’t understand the equipment on the ship, figuring that it is perhaps sorcery from those who escaped the island. She suggests destroying it at once but this upsets Ibara, who angrily asks if she presumes to offer advice when she knows it’s the master who decides these things. She apologizes for being out of line which calms Ibara. He then notices the clothes on Chrome’s statue and compliments them, figuring they can refashion them for the girls in the harem. Unfortunately he says this while breaking Chrome’s statue, which infuriates Kohaku who charges towards the ship. Gen panics but she reassures him that she has no intention of ruining the plan. Her plan was to get closer to the ship because she figures someone might have survived the petrification, so she wanted to be within shouting distance.

Kohaku underestimated her opponents however, because Kirisame suddenly appears behind her asking who she is and village she came from. Kohaku is shocked because she didn’t sense Kirisame, who she notes is prepared to battle. Kirisame and Kohaku proceed to fight, but because of the dress Kohaku is wearing she’s inhibited, and this allows Kirisame to gain the upper hand. Kohaku is severely outclassed and acknowledges that Kirisame is probably one of the village’s fiercest warriors. Everyone watches on in dismay as Kirisame completely dominates Kohaku, who admits she’s too much to handle barehanded and that if she was going to fight back it had to be now. She suddenly screams out “LAB!” much to the surprise and confusion of everyone around her. Soyuz realizes that “lab” isn’t a word these people would know, only those from their village, so it’s like Kohaku is speaking in code. Gen catches on quickly and does what he does best by working it to his advantage. Gen turns to Senkuu and calls him Lab, spinning the story that he’s Kohaku’s boyfriend and that she’s clingy and gets into a jealous rage when there is another woman around and starts brawling. Kohaku backs up Gen’s story by claiming she and “Lab” are romantically involved and proceeds to prove it by grabbing Senkuu and kissing him. Everyone goes red at seeing this, except Senkuu who is completely unaffected. Even Kirisame is flustered to the point where she actually buys into their story and orders them to go home and stay away while she runs back to the ship.

Senkuu tells Kohaku that the little farce was pointless if there are no survivors on the ship, to which she agrees but insists there must be someone. On the ship we see some barrels on deck, when someone suddenly acknowledges they heard Kohaku and knows she needs the lab urgently. This person turns out to be Ginrou, who had abandoned ship at the last minute before the Petrification beam could reach him. He briefly debates with himself about whether to keep hiding or to help, but ultimately decides his friends are in trouble and they absolutely need his help. Something he is not very happy about.

Thoughts:

Good chapter. 7.5/10. I find it hard to believe Kirisame would just let them go with that story of Senkuu being a guy named Lab and he’s Kohaku’s boyfriend, but that’s what happened. Also I’m not sure how to feel about the “shipping” moment. I like the possibility of Senkuu/Kohaku, but this just proves Senkuu is not interested in anything romantic in the least. A bittersweet chapter for the shippers overall. Also I was shocked Chrome’s statue was broken and I totally expected Kohaku to go berserk. But the fact that they only have to put the pieces back together before reviving him made the whole thing more bearable. I thought for sure that the survivors on the ship would be Homura and Hyouga with them being so far below deck, but Ginrou is fine too. The upcoming chapters should be hilarious as anything with Ginrou always is, so I’m looking forward to his antics. The makeup used on Kohaku better work miracles because Kirisame will remember her face and that might ruin the infiltration plan. I like Kirisame though. She’d make a good ally/sparring partner for Kohaku. Of course the dress stopping Kohaku from properly defending herself might make it easier for her to beat Kirisame next time they meet, when she’s not restricted, so she could also be a stepping stone for Kohaku getting stronger. We’ll see soon.

Dr. Stone - Chapter 108 Review by Seraph

Chapter Title: The Second Trump Card

This week in Dr. Stone we are sent back a few hours in time to when the Crew on the Perseus was petrified,it is revealed that it was Kirisame that was observing the crew from above on the Cliffs. When Ryusui asked who she is she ignored his question and immediatly threw the Petrification Weapon into the air leaving the crew only a few seconds to react and take any counter measures, Ryusui analysed the Weapon quickly as well as how it seems to work. The crew thought that she had thrown some sort of Bomb or Grenade towards the Perseus, which Ukyo tried to steer of it's course by firing an arrow at it which only managed to hit it back slightly. As the light begins to shine upon the Crew the Captain Ryusui takes desperate measures and decides to save Suika by kicking her away like a Football,as she flies towards the cliffs Ryusui tells her to live and alert Senkuu of what happened on the ship. As the attack happened Ginro was still underwater and had just come up for air, when he saw the light he dived again and swam as fast he could to get away. The light stopped right infront of him, thanks to Ukyo's arrow hitting it back a bit he was saved. He makes his way on board again,to check on the crew only to find everyone petrified including Kinro which brings him to tears but unfortunately he is not given the time to mourn his friends as the Natives already make their way onto their Ship. He decides to hide in the barrel that Suika hid in before.

Back in the present Minister Ibara praises Kirisame for her quick reaction to the invaders, meanwhile,Ginro manages to spot Kohaku outside and tries giving her signs by waving quickly. Senkuu catches a glimpse of the movement through the binoculars, and is left disappointed alongside Kohaku and Gen as they realize that it is Ginro that survived the attack. Someone rather unreliable for them in a situation like the one they're in right now, Kohaku mentions that even he can be counted on when everything goes down on them and as she says so Senkuu notices that Ginro is trying to give them a message. By reading his lip movements Senkuu realizes that he was spelling "Help"...very much to the dismay of everyone as they need his help first. Suddenly Minister Ibara notices a faint noise and turns around, forcing Ginro to go into hiding again,as Ibara makes his way over to him he asks a guard if he noticed any movements at the barrels as one of them has been moved about a pinky's difference from where it stood initially. Something that proves the Ministers memory to be rather detail focused and accurate. As he bows down to start inspecting the barrel with the scared Ginro inside a sudden loud noise comes from inside the greenhouse where the Kingdom of Science was growing fruits and vegetables for their journey. As Ibara makes his way into the Ship alongside Kirisame they're met by some goats and fruits grown by the Crew.

However, they do not call them goats they call them "Beasts from the Hundred Tales",the Soldiers keep up their guard around the animals as they're still beasts but the sound they heard was not a goat but rather a crash-like noise. Ibara mentions that they made a great catch as there are many fruits and vegetables that they have never seen as well as the animals to eat for them, the Great Leader will be happy about this. Next to some of the vegetables on the shelf we can see Suika hiding, she must've made her way back onto the ship after being kicked out by Ryusui, outside Senkuu and Kohaku wonders what could've happened, only to realize that it was Suika who managed to survive as well, she is super reliable in this case. Senkuu tells the others that they'll go and hide the boat they used to travel towards the Island so the Natives won't know that there are invaders on the Island while Suika and Ginro will have to team up in order to get the Science Lab to them. The Master of Infiltration Suika and the Comic Relief Ginro are going to team up to help their friends!

Ginro and Suika team up to get the Science Lab for Senkuu and Co. now this will be hilarious i can already see it. Everybodies reactions when they saw that Ginro survived the Petrification were priceless too,i cracked up there especially once Gen started his Card Game comparison. Anyway,i found it really nice that we learned what exactly happened to the Crew and most importantly who petrified them. I feel like that means Amaryllis can be trusted, perhaps my fear was a bit paranoid.Ryusui and Ukyo certainly rose(Once more!) in my rankings for Dr. Stone, their quick reaction to the attack and Ryusui's insanely fast analysis of the Petrification Weapon was incredible,Senkuu and Co. really made the right decision putting him onto their Squad. I'm definitely looking forward to next Chapter because i'm really curious how Suika and Ginro of all people will end up getting the Lab and fooling Kirisame as well as the Minister at once. Whatever will happen we'll have a good laugh for sure. 8.5/10.

Dr. Stone Chapter 109 Review by Belserion

Chapter Title: Great Escape

This week we begin with Suika sneaking around the ship, devising a plan that would see her and Ginro get the lab to Senkuu and the others. Senkuu prepared a camo cover beforehand to protect the lab from wild animals, something he knows Suika will realize as she’s also a pro at blending in with nature. Soyuz is skeptical since the camo cover doesn’t turn it invisible, and Senkuu backs this by saying Suika and Ginro will have to bust out by force, a feat Kohaku is sure they can pull off if they work together. While Gen believes in Suika, he doesn’t have the same confidence in Ginro, but Kohaku believes in Ginro and assures him that Ginro always comes through when it counts.

Meanwhile on the ship, Ginro is happy that someone has come to save him and doesn’t think anyone would mind if he skedaddled. He utilizes his ultimate move “Not my problem” as he runs away, using the soldiers’ distraction with goats as a cover to go over the opposite side of the ship. He reasons that it’s the right thing to do since he was lucky enough not to get petrified. However, he suddenly realizes that he’s now alone since Kinro has been petrified and has some sort of mental lapse since he’s suddenly gotten it into his head to take Kinro’s statue with him as he’s making his escape. Ginro talks to Kinro as normal, making it seem like he’s just sleeping, promising him that they would escape together and that he would carry Kinro since he was being lazy. All while he’s doing this, Ginro is crying and it’s a really sad moment because we know Kinro and Ginro have always been together, from the time we first met them until now.

There’s a sudden crash and Ginro finally notices Suika who is in the process of causing a diversion. She reasons that while she gets the soldiers’ attention, Ginro can escape with the lab. Her watermelon helmet is actually a good distraction since the soldiers are busy trying to figure out if it’s a fruit or a beast. Suika has a lot of faith in Ginro considering she’s already put the plan into motion without Ginro’s consent. He’s still hiding and deduces that if Suika gets caught they will petrify her and she’ll die. He’s totally ready to ditch her, telling Kinro they couldn’t worry about her since it was time to escape, seeking confirmation that it would be the right thing to abandon Suika.

This is where it gets interesting. We get Kinro’s point of view, as he seems to have some sort of consciousness despite being petrified. He knows Ginro wasn’t on the ship when they were attacked and petrified, but where he is right now he can’t see or hear so he can’t be sure what exactly is happening. He encourages Ginro to think hard about what he’d say to him now, telling him how much he believes in him. Ginro smiles as if he somehow is aware that Kinro is talking to him and doesn’t have to think too hard because Kinro’s serious face says it all. He apologizes to Kinro and asks him to wait a while longer because he would be back with Senkuu to save everyone who was petrified. Ginro’s face is super serious here and we know he means business because there’s no trace of his usual goofy scumbag ways.

Ginro reaches the lab and, along with Suika, launches an escape to the bafflement of the soldiers’ who were still distracted by Suika’s helmet that she’s now officially abandoned as she and Ginro make it off the ship with the lab which is equipped for both land and sea. They make it to Senkuu and the others who congratulate them on a job well done. They have a new problem since they’re now surrounded by the soldiers who are in pursuit of the lab. However they think it’s some sort of beast since as Soyuz mentions, they would not be able to conceive of a vehicle that moves on its own. Senkuu has it in mind to use their confusion to the group’s advantage, but Gen reminds him that the exhaust fumes would clue them in that it’s a machine. Senkuu suddenly notices a flower that Amaryllis confirms is Jasmine. Senkuu as usual is plotting and decides since there will be exhaust no matter what, they would give it a smell to be excited about using Jasmine and rotten seashells. The Amine in seafood along with the Jasmine will yield a compound called Skatole. All they have to do is wrap the rotten shellfish in the jasmine flowers and heat them, and doing this, poop is acquired much to everyone’s disgust. While Ginro complains that he could have just gotten it from butts like normal people, Senkuu clarifies that it’s the stench he was after and not actual poop. With the finishing touch of sulfur added to the wrapped Skatole, a smelly stench is released into the air. With Gen making noises, it comes off as if the lab was a big smelly beast after all. The soldiers run away and Suika proclaims the great escape a total success.

This chapter was entertaining. 8/10. The Kinro/Ginro part especially was sweet. I’m not sure if it was the moment or there really is some sort of consciousness inside the petrified statues, but it’s an interesting concept that hopefully will be confirmed when our petrified heroes are changed back. What I did note was Ginro thinking Suika would be dead if she's petrified, something he should know better about since he knows a petrified person can be changed back, even ones broken to pieces. But that was probably him panicking and not thinking clearly. I’m guessing Kohaku’s makeover and the subsequent infiltration of the Master's palace is up next, along with round 2 of Kohaku vs. Kirisame so that’s something to look forward to in the coming weeks.

Dr. Stone - Chapter 110 Review by Seraph

Chapter Title: Beautiful Science

This week's chapter of Dr. Stone starts with the Science Team celebrating their successful recovery of the Lab,they do so while driving through the Forest, because now they can finally start with their "Cute-ification"-Process of Kohaku. Something which is news to Suika and Ginro's ears but is quickly explained by Kohaku who is still very eager and excited to enter the Inner Palace to get her hands onto the Petrification Weapon. As Senkuu and Co. fill their comrades in about the current situation we see Prime Minister Ibara inspect the tracks left behind by the wheels of the Lab,seemingly skeptical about wether or not this was actually left behind by an Animal as the soldiers are claiming or if this isn't something beyond their understanding. I gotta give this guy credit, considering they do not have any sort of science on their Island and don't even know Goats or some common vegetables and fruit he is pretty quick to get that this might not be an animal. Perhaps seeing the Perseus flipped his world upside down? Seemingly, yes. Back at Senkuu and Co's Location we see Kohaku and Suika create a few fake tracks to mislead the soldiers in case they start a search for them, once they did so Amaryllis led them into the Sapphire Cave which can only be accessed from the sea and is a Cave eroded away by the waves. Gen likens it to a place in Italy,on the Island of Capri called the "Blue Grotto" which is a famous spot for tourists in the country. Amaryllis assures them that they'll be save in there for the time being.

Back to the coast where the Perseus is anchored we see Minister Ibara do what Senkuu and Co. expected as he orders his soldiers to begin their search over the entire Island, every Forest, every Village, every house, every nook and cranny. Back in the Cave,Kohaku wonders if the Inner Harem Selection will still take place with matters as they are which is confirmed by the arriving Amaryllis who was out gathering ingredients for Senkuu. She says that there is no way that Mozu would postpone it,she explains that while he is very strong unlike Minister Ibara he isn't stressing over small matters or the overly cautious type. He's very relaxed, but he only cares about cute girls. Something we saw before when in the Flashback of Amaryllis he would almost droll over her being cute when she was just a little girl. As she finishes they start inspecting the ingredients delivered to them, which are 10 billion percent useful to them and there is plenty for them to use as well. She laments that she was only able to gather a few fruits like Coconuts or pears, but Senkuu thanks her because this is just what they need. With the things they have in the Lab Car these simple fruits can become so much more it excites him to no end, as he says so we are shown a "Roadmap" of Kohaku's way to become a Beauty alongside all the MakeUp,Hygiene products and beauty products she needs which are Shampoo,Lipstick,a Lamé Foundation,Conditioner and Perfume. Let's get to it! This is where it becomes very funny!

Suika is shocked that they are going to create and apply so many things in the short time they have till Noon, prompting Kohaku to say that being Cute sounds like a lot of work,Senkuu remains cool about it as always since he knows what he's doing. He walks up to Kohaku, attempting to take of her hairband because hair styles can make a big impact, but as he removes the hairband he is hit by her wild and untamed hair or as Senkuu calls it: It is ratty, frizzy and sticks up all over the place. Like he's one to talk right? Anyway, the first step will be to create Shampoo by combining Coconut Oil with Sodium Hydroxide and Sulfuric Acid as well as a bit of Salt and Oil and Tada! here we go. Shampoo Aquired! But that isn't enough,as expected, because Kohaku's hair stands up into all directions again even though her hair is washed and shampood making it clean and smooth her hair bristles still remain stiff because they have been upturned by the previous washing which the fats and oils inside the conditioner will "fix". He says it doesn't need more than some fluids from the Lab Car mixed with Lemons,Honey and Coconuts to create it, Conditioner Aquired! as Kohaku brushes her fresh, fluffy, silky and smooth hair. Senkuu breezes through the "Roadmap" now as he quickly creates Perfume,Lamé,Foundation and the Lipstick required which as usually confuses Ginro as he has no idea what any of these things are.

As Kohaku is handed her "tools" she suddenly enters her serious, battle mood and starts applying it to her face in a really rushed, wild and unconventional manner. Now is where i almost lost it,going by Ginro and Senkuu's reaction we are led to think she actually applied it decently and now looks unbelievably cute but just as we look at the top of the next Page we see that they are actually scared because Kohaku applied the make up in a way that makes her look like the Joker from Batman. I broke there, couldn't keep it in anymore i'm sorry. Meanwhile Senkuu and Co. start wondering if this really was a good idea but Amaryllis offers to apply the makeup for her and she succeeds because Kohaku now managed to wow Suika and Soyuz immediatly, with good cause because Kohaku now looks like a completely different person. You wouldn't think she is a skilled fighter at first sight,Amaryllis on the other hand takes some of the Beauty Products created by Senkuu and is now attempting to turn some of the guys into "Innocent Maiden" as they need more candidates for the selection than just Kohaku and herself. First up is Senkuu, who doesn't want to participate and whose voice would reveal him as a guy immediatly. Next up is Gen,who if not for his height would pass as a Cute girl since he can even replicate a girl's voice, after him is Soyuz who...yeah i don't think we need a description here he doesn't pass as a girl no matter what Outfit or MakeUp gets applied. Too much of a brute, fierce warrior guy.

Which leaves Ginro, who has the perfect build and a voice closer to a woman's than a man's. Time goes by to the next Morning and we can see Mozu and his Warriors approach the Village of Amaryllis in order to start their selection, The most Powerful Warrior on the Island is looking forward to the selection as it only happens once a year and it is always a treat to see new cute girls for him. Inside the Lab Car we can see Senkuu and Gen wondering if everything will go well, especially with "Ginny". Senkuu seems certain that their candidates will be chosen and as we take a look at the next and final page we see that Ginro actually looks like a Girl now and could technically compete with Kohaku and Amaryllis, the Mission to take the Petrification Ray for themselves is about to begin and so is the Selection.

This Chapter was hilarious, 9/10 ,i cracked up at almost every page. The MakeUp invention process was nice to see and i like that they remembered Magma and Chrome digging up some of the Materials, since both of them are petrified and yet are still contributing to the Science Team's success. I didn't think they'd actually go and add one of the guys into the Selection Team, and when i saw that it was Ginro i couldn't help but laugh again. Inb4 he gets chosen by the Great Leader as a Partner or something xD,but i'm definitely looking forward to this Selection and who the great Leader actually is. It will be interesting to see who he actually is and what he is like in person,as well as how good Ginro plays his role here alongside Kohaku and Amaryllis. I believe it'll be the latter stealing the Weapon while Ginro ends up distracting Mozu and Kohaku might fight Kirisame again while the Prime Minister continues his search for the intruders? I'm not sure we'll see about it i guess,i'm looking forward to it for sure that's all i know right now. Stay excited for the next Chapter! Till next time everybody!

Dr. Stone Chapter 111 Review by Belserion

Chapter Title: Science Wars

This week’s chapter begins with three beautiful color pages with the current main cast and a small recap of what happened 3700 years ago, in celebration of the anime’s premiere.

Picking up from last week, the ladies are told to line up so the most beautiful may be chosen to join the Master’s Harem and become his property. Mozu comments on the quality of the “crop” this year stating there are many cuties. Kohaku is annoyed at Ginrou hiding behind her, but he reminds her that he’s a guy and doesn’t want to join a harem. She reminds him that it’s a mission to get the petrification weapon and they need all hands on deck.
Someone suddenly screams and we see Ibara holding a girl against her will. He claims to have been searching for the beast, but the girl will be compensation for a long search. Her husband begs them not to take her, using the fact that they just got married as a reason. Ibara casually dismisses their newlywed status asking why it should matter. This makes the husband angry and he prepares to attack Ibara. Amaryllis stops him and asks him to endure it a bit more, stating that she herself has had friends turned to stone and she’s endured for five whole years, all leading up to this moment where they plan to infiltrate the harem and save everyone. Despite her reassurance he’s heartbroken and asks what a timid girl like Amaryllis can do. Before she’s able to answer, the other girls are called to present themselves.

Amaryllis slips into character and shyly introduces herself saying she’s nervous around big, strong men and overwhelmed at “little old her” being chosen for the ceremony, much to Kohaku and Ginrou’s astonishment. Her act works because she’s selected right away. They go through a selection of other women until it’s Kohaku’s turn to present herself. She tries to come off as energetic but falls way short since the acting didn’t come naturally to her. Ibara overlooks her presentation stating she’s easy on the eyes and his old eyes always appreciates a woman with curves. He reaches out to touch Kohaku’s chest area and she immediately switches to warrior mode and silently warns him not to. He doesn’t see the threat in her eyes and just as he’s about to touch her inappropriately, Kohaku grabs his hand at the same time Mozu, who was closely monitoring the interaction, uses his lance to hit Ibara who pulls away before Kohaku could break his hand. Ibara confronts Mozu who lies that he saw a bee and that’s why he hit Ibara. His excuse was accepted and Kohaku ends up being selected.

Mozu confronts Kohaku asking her if she’s really strong. He tells her he likes her type, but also warns her that while he doesn’t know what she’s really after, if she’s going to mess with the Harem he loves so much then he’ll stop her in her tracks. He departs, but not before telling her he’ll sneak in to visit her in the harem one day and he’s looking forward to their encounter. I’m not sure if Kohaku deliberately misunderstood or she really didn’t get his innuendo, but she replies that if he means mortal combat she’ll be ready.

Senkuu, Gen, Suika and Soyuz are at the lab trying to create a Science Earring for Kohaku. Made of Copper Wire, Rochelle Salt, Stone and some feathers for aesthetics, Senkuu creates an Earpiece that will be used to receive messages while Kohaku is at the palace. Senkuu takes some time to explain how the earpiece will work even without batteries to Gen and the others, before they set out to take it to Kohaku before she’s transported. Back at the selection ceremony, Ginrou introduces himself as Ginrolina and tries to put them off by being the exact opposite of cute. Ibara laughs and calls “her” a tomboy and says she’s very cute thinking she’s tough and she’s selected much to Ginrou’s horror.

As the group head to the palace, Soyuz tosses the earring to Kohaku who put it’s on and, much to her dismay, is asked to test it by striking a cute pose. She thinks of what Suika always does and imitates it to the best of her ability. The testing is deemed successful despite Senkuu’s dig that he wouldn’t call it a cute pose. As Kohaku leaves with the rest of the party, she promises retribution on Gen for the cute pose debacle.

Suika wonders how they will get the weapon now that they have people on the inside. Senkuu mentions Kirisame is the one wearing it and she’s a fierce fighter so taking it from her would be a billion percent asking for trouble. Since Kirisame knows the value of the weapon, there’s only one time she’s not wearing it and that’s when she throws it to activate it and turn someone into stone. Senkuu thinks that is the best time to strike since he always knew the battle would be fought in midair. Senkuu declares, much to the shock and disbelief of his friends, that they are going to build a drone and that up in the air science reigns supreme.

Thoughts:

Chapter rating: 7/10.

The selection process by a perverted old man was a bit uncomfortable and annoying to read. I wish Kohaku had broken his hand, but then she would not have been selected and that would defeat the purpose of the whole thing. The Master is coming off more and more like a clueless spoiled child gathering toys and leaving them on a shelf. Mozu basically admitted to sneaking into the harem and having his way with whomever he chose, not to mention Ibara feeling comfortable enough copping a feel without any hesitation makes me think he samples as well. His casual dismissal of stealing away a married woman was the icing on his scummy cake.

Now Senkuu is going to build a drone. I will reserve judgment because honestly some of the things Senkuu does make me side eye the author. It will most likely be a tiny drone, maybe toy-like so that wouldn't be too bad. But after a speedboat, car, hot air balloon and a huge ship, I really shouldn't be surprised at what they come up with next.

Dr. Stone - Chapter 112 Review by Seraph

Chapter Title: 3-D Champion

Last time in Dr. Stone we got to see the Harem Selection held by Ibara and Mozu, the Prime Minister and the strongest Warrior on the Island. Amaryllis,Kohaku and even Ginrolina managed to get chosen, while the process was rather creepy and uncomfortable to witness and read our heroines managed to get chosen into the Harem with Kohaku already scheming how she can get her hands onto the weapon carried by Kirisame. She suggests that they wait for her to sleep and then just take it from her, while Amaryllis agrees that they should rather hurry then waste their time due to one of them possibly being chosen to meet the Great Leader we see Ginrolina trying to change Kohaku's mind as this appears too spontaneous and reckless of her. Amaryllis proposes to scout out the area and present security first as most likely all of the Higher Ups will have strong security assigned to them, suddenly Kohaku receives a message from Senkuu through her earring which shocks Amaryllis as she can't explain how someone could convey a message like this. Senkuu tells her that this is where the Kingdom of Science goes on the offense on 2 fronts, with their Science Team and the Spy Team present at the Palace, the Spy Team's mission being to investigate the palace and try to figure out the schedules for the Top Warriors as well as the Minister. But also to try and get Kirisame to demonstrate her Petrification Weapon to them, best case scenario when she's by herself.

Kohaku responds that they'll do their best, but then remembers that Senkuu can't hear her voice but she's still glad to have his support in this mission with Ginrolina adding that it would have been impossible to infiltrate with their Cellphone on the back after all. Senkuu cuts back in and adds that when their mission succeeds the Science Team will join their "fight" and steal the Petrification Weapon in midair through their Drone, which as usually, shocks Kohaku and Co. Senkuu goes to explain what they'll need to create the "3-D Champion": A controller,4 propeller and a motor. The materials he'll need will be plastic, feathers,an electro magnet, bamboo, iron and some wires. As Gen wonders if their self made drone will be alright in regards of flight stability due to lack of an IC- Ship for altitude control he is casually reassured that it'll all go well as Senkuu has an idea what to do about it,in the same moment we see Soyuz pull out a latch from their Science Lab. Senkuu asks his team for assistance as this process would take him all day by himself,he tells them that by wrapping a copper wire around a piece of iron and sending electricity through it they can create an electro magnet. He puts the Latch through the same process and asks his companions what they'll think will happen if both magnets are put against another now,the answer is simple: The continous electro magnetic force will get the piece of iron to spin continously until the electricity flow is halted. That's what makes it a Motor!

Funny if it were that simple right? As Gen fears what comes next Senkuu explains that the next step is why the process would take so long: while the system and foundation for the motor is created it isn't nearly powerful enough to power 4 propellers and the drone's other functions,so they will have to coil up copper wire over and over until they're out of any basically. The mentalist responds that while this is super straightforward and simple to do it is too tiring as well, back to the Inner Palace,we can see Kohaku and the others arrive at the Great Leaders Stronghold. It is revealed that the Inner Palace consists of several tree houses connected to another through bridges with the Great Leader's house being in the highest treetop,we can see Ibara report to him but we do not hear any of their conversation nor do we see the Leader's face as he sits behind a curtain. Suddenly we see a Statue getting smashed next to Ginrolina, one of the Palace Guards called Oarashi did it. Oarashi is a mountain of a man, surpassing even Magma's stature and muscle mass,he explains that the statue he just crushed was a fool of a man trying to rescue his daugther. He promises that anyone daring to go against him and the Leader will meet the same fa..fa...Fat? He struggles with the words "Fate" and "Fat",and ends up using the latter resulting in a soldier correcting him. Meanwhile Kohaku spots her chance to start the investigation of the Palace as she looks up to the Leader's House.

Suddenly she gets serious, she asks Amaryllis to but her 15 seconds so she can go scout out the Inner Palace which she accepts in the same kind of tone something that scares Ginrolina. She approaches Oarashi, complimenting his muscles in her usual shy-manner and it is as effective as always as the Warrior loses focus and control hearing her compliments but that's not all the other Soldiers have fallen to her "spell" too. In the meantime we can see Kohaku start her climb towards the Leader's house but she stops halfway as she seemingly spotted a weakness, she thinks to herself that this is all possible due to her extraordinary eyesight as well as the knowledge she gained from Senkuu and the Kingdom of Science. Suddenly Kirisame arrives asking what all the ruckus is about and just as she does Kohaku arrives back at Amaryllis and Ginrolina's side, Kohaku claims that she found the "Key of Science". That which will determine their victory, the problem now is how she is going to inform Senkuu and Co. of this weakness as she can't inform him per the earring. Naturally,Senkuu may just have found a means to communicate for her as he attempts to test the Motor with a mini car. If this goes well then the Drone will have no issues flying around in the Inner Palace...

Great Chapter of Dr. Stone this week, 7.5/10. The developing process of the Motor felt a bit rushed to me,and i'm not too sure about this Drone invention either as these things just feel a tad impossible to create in their circumstances for me sometimes but at this point i probably shouldn't complain anymore after the other things they've build so far. Anything is possible is the Motto here. I'm curious what Kohaku has found that she calls the "Key of Science" that will assure them victory here,it must be pretty obvious if she managed to find and analyse it within barely 15 seconds. Really damn curious right now...more pages...need more pages...The security they have in the Inner Palace seems to be bad news though, not just powerful but cruel as well. That big brute just shattered a statue of a man, good thing that the Statues can be fixed and saved by Senkuu and Co. I wonder if that big shadow really was the Great Leader or not just his Throne, for some reason i think he is a rather small guy of Senkuu's age just throwing commands around. Unless he has some sort of machinery or secret room in the Palace i can't help but wonder when and how he created this Weapon, but we'll see soon enough. All i know is that i'm hyped for it! Till next time!

Dr. Stone Chapter 113 Review by Belserion

Chapter Title: Cryptography Science

This week’s chapter begins with Kohaku thinking she’s found the ultimate key to victory for the kingdom of science, which is in the master’s giant tree. The only problem she has now is getting the information to Senkuu and the others since the communication device is only one way, and that’s receiving not sending. Ginrou suggests Kohaku try yelling like she did before when he was on the ship but she dismisses that idea because they were now in the harem and it would be too risky. Amaryllis agrees and cautions them not to blow their cover. An older lady hits Ginrou as punishment for what she thinks is idling. She reminds them they only have a week to learn the correct posture and manners before joining the harem for real so they have to commit themselves.

Senkuu contacts Kohaku through the earpiece and tells her they’re about to send a Science Mouse her way. The mouse cuts a path through the soldiers who are freaked out by it, to Kohaku who scoops it up quickly. She’s scolded for stepping out of line but Amaryllis covers for her by saying how grateful she is that Kohaku caught the big mean mouse since they were scared. Kohaku receives a message from Gen telling her if they run into trouble to send an S.O.S letter with the mouse to them. Amaryllis and Kohaku are confused by what a letter is, and Ginrou has a flashback to when Kinrou was studying to read and write letters. He tells Ginrou it’s a way to communicate without being face to face and the village would do well to learn it. Ginrou settles down to learn beside a proud Kinrou who calls him an upstanding fellow. Back to the present, Amaryllis is relieved by this and thinks they can use it to send a letter with Kohaku's discovery to Senkuu via the mouse. Kohaku crushes her optimism by calling out Ginrou’s lie. It turns out he didn’t settle in to learn with Kinrou but did the exact opposite in dismissing it which he now bitterly regrets. Kohaku comes up with a plan however so all is not lost.

Back at their camp Suika intercepts the mouse, surprised that Kohaku and co. already sent an S.O.S. written on a piece of cloth. When they open it, it’s nothing but a crude drawing that they try to decipher since they know no one in Kohaku’s group can write. Gen takes the lead in trying to decipher the picture Kohaku sent. He tells the group they need to consider the psychology of the sender, basically saying they have to look at it from Kohaku’s perspective. They take time to go through many different possibilities.

We finally find out what Kohaku found. Within the roots of The Masters’ Tree she spotted a strange man-made object, a mysterious machine strengthened by science to withstand the elements for thousands of years. It turns out to be the treasure chest left by Senkuu’s father and his friends that they were searching for. The Soyuz Time Capsule. We switch back to Senkuu and the others who have now deciphered the picture. Kohaku spelled out the word “Platinum” for them and Senkuu understands this to mean she’s found it. He’s excited because with this they can now revive the entire Kingdom of Science.

Thoughts:

Chapter Rating: 7/10

This chapter basically confirms what Kohaku found and getting the message to Senkuu. It was fun reading about them trying to solve the puzzle of Kohaku’s letter. Other than that nothing much really happened. Mostly a set up chapter since now they have two goals. Recover the chest and get the necklace from Kirisame. They will most likely have to modify the original plan since this is now a spanner in the works. I’m looking forward to seeing how these events unfold.

Dr. Stone - Chapter 114 Review by Seraph

Chapter Title: As Science silently bores through Stone

A mild rustling is to be heard from within the tree branches and it turns out that it is Kohaku climbing down the Great Tree in order to investigate the Space Capsule Soyuz hidden at the foot of the Tree, she wants to investigate the treasure chest and if possible give some of the materials to Senkuu and Co. as soon as possible. As she approaches the Soyuz she imagines how much the Kingdom of Science will benefit from it's contents, all their friends will be revived and they'll be able to launch their counter attack against the Great Leader and his Warriors. However,as she tries to open the Capsule she is shocked to see that the metallic outer shell just crumbled away upon touch, proving that even with Modern Day Know How the Shell was not able to stand the test of time. Kohaku's concern shifts onto the minerals because if the Capsule is in this shape then what about it's contents? She breaks more parts of the shell open and is surprised to see that the contents have been protected by another shell made up of a concrete ball out of cement. She seemingly conveyed these news to Senkuu's Team as he and Gen question why and what purpose this other shell would serve, the Scientist lets us know that this was the most cheapest and best way to ensure the minerals would be protected for many years to come. Kohaku remembers that the record from Byakuya and his crew was preserved in the same manner and that she was able to force it open with brute strength at the time but since this is an undercover mission she'd rather avoid it here.

If she was to break the shell open here and now in the middle of the night the noise would alarm the Guards around Oarashi and sooner or later the Elite Warriors as well, she can't take this risk,Kohaku laments that she can't do as she pleases now that the Soyuz is right in front of her with which she could save the entire Kingdom of Science and Humanity as a whole. Back at the Cave our Science Team thinks about a way to get to the contents without causing too much or any noise at all, with Soyuz and Suika doubting that there is an option like that we see Senkuu thinking that all they'd need would be a "Silent Bomb" which is ridiculed by Gen as he questions if such a device even exists. To everyone's surprise Silent Bombs do exist according to Senkuu as he strikes one of Suika's poses,Gen is in utter disbelief as he can't imagine anyone would invent something like that and just call it a Silent Bomb. The Scientist sets him straight once more as he educates us that Silent Bombs do exist but their actual name would be "Static Crushers",it was used in residential areas to break open concrete without disrupting the Citizens with scary noises or the like. He mixes 2 test tubes with Green Liquid and White powder in them together to create Plaster!, he continues to send 3 Science Mouse's to Kohaku carrying the necessary materials to break open the Shell without any noise. In order to provide cover for her once more we see Amaryllis perform a "Miracle Dance" for the Warriors inside the Palace. Naturally, she succeeds and even Ginro helps.

Meanwhile Kohaku received her "tools" to open the shell, she has been provided with several test tubes containing the Green Liquid and White powder to create Plaster. But Senkuu also had a hand drill delivered to her for her to drill deep but small holes all over the shell, he's making use of the Lioness Kohaku's strength here which she takes offense with but she can't lose it here since he can't hear her anyway and the soldiers would notice. Oarashi starts to suspect something as he seems to notice faint scrapping noises from the Great Leader's Tree branches,Amaryllis notices this as well but to everybody's surprise Ginro saves the day as he took a spear to hit the floor with it to create a counter noise confusing the Soldiers. As Oarashi tries to take the Spear back our "savior" claims that he can do a Spear Dance and needs it for that,Amaryllis is worried because unless he can do a Spear Dance it's all over here and now and we are once more surprised because Ginro can actually pull of something alike of a Spear Dance wowing the Soldiers. He makes sure to hit the floor with each move so Kohaku can drill as she pleases but he also makes it look very skilled which impresses even Amaryllis who wonders how he learned that, now it get's funny,Ginro puts on a dead serious face and claims that everytime he neglected his guard duties he was practising Cool Spear Moves even though he'd never use them in battle.

Down at the Soyuz we see Senkuu telling Kohaku to insert all test tubes with the Green Liquid into the holes she drilled and use the White Powder, revealed to be Calcium Sulfate on some of the Shells lying around and then put them on top of the test tubes. As he tries to explain what is about to happen he cuts off saying she won't need the explanation right now, which Kohaku confirms because she wouldn't understand it anyway. She continues by smashing the shells onto the test tubes resulting in them cracking and the substances mixing, with the plaster formed and having nowhere to go inside that tiny hole it will try and expand more and more ultimately surpassing a power of 300kg forcing the shell to crack and burst open from the inside. Kohaku inserted the tubes around noon,so she returned around evening again to check and was surprised to see that the surface of the shell had actual and expanding cracks in it. Silent Bomb aquired! As the moon shines onto the Soyuz and the cracks keep widening we see a brief flashback to the recording left behind by Byakuya Ishigami, the minerals inside the Soyuz are the Crew's gift and legacy to Humanity. Their Gold,Diamonds and Platinum will be there, ready for the taking because it will be Senkuu to free the World of it's petrification.

Senkuu thinks about his fathers words and announces that while it may take a long road for them to achieve everything envisioned by his Father he will definitely do it some day. The same way as it takes the Plaster to burst through the shell,Science successfully and silently bore through Stone...

Personal Thought's
Interesting Chapter of Dr. Stone this week, 8/10, i admit when i first heard they are going to create a "Silent Bomb" to break open the shell i pictured some sort of complex device manufactured by Senkuu but i was glad to see it was "just" 2 chemical substances mixed together to break the shell from within it's mass which seems reasonable enough with their Science Lab close by and the tools and materials they brought along for me. The Dance Distraction was funny and worked well in their favor, but now i'm curious about the contents of the Treasure Chest because due to the shell crumbling after Kohaku touching it it appears like the Leader either hasn't found it yet himself or he doesn't know about it in the first place. Either way i'm still wondering if Kohaku has not been under surveillance of either Kirisame or Mozu, since neither has a reason to trust her and the latter explicitly stating that he won't forgive her if she messes around with the Leader, the Harem and the Palace. Seems logical that he would watch her or have someone check on her,but we'll see if that's the case once the shell crumbles entirely and the materials come forth from within. If anyone appears behind Kohaku all of a sudden then it should be when she feels closest to "Mission accomplished!". In my opinion at least, till next time everybody!

Dr Stone Chapter 115 Review

There is a bit of a surprise in this chapter, with the results of the popularity poll. I genuinely thought that Gen would come second place. Senkuu being first place wasn't really a surprise, but the second and third place rankings were. Ryuusui appeared what, 20 chapters ago? Genuinely amazed he pipped Gen to second place. Also with more than 500 votes? That's....genuinely surprising. I'm also a bit surprised Kohaku didn't rank 4th place, and that Tsukasa outranked Suika.

Moving onto the chapter, Kohaku finally managed to get the treasure chest open, remembering what Ruri said about the 100 stories and Platinum being inside the chest. She gets disappointed though, since she realizes there is just sand inside the capsule. The guards at the palace pick up on the sound when the capsule caved in, and immediately go to check the source of the commotion.

Kohaku realizes that the sand in the treasure box might have some worth, after having spent so much time with Senkuu. To that effect, she manages to escape just as the guards arrive at the source of the commotion. The guards arrive and take the debris of the capsule to Jafar, who studies them keenly. Suika and Soyuz arrive with a delivery from Kohaku. She managed to get the sand to Senkuu and his group, and Senkuu quickly identifies the sand as gold sand. Brings back memories of Naruto with Gaara's father.

Senkuu explains that gold sand can have platinum mixed in with it, and he uses a magnifying glass to identify a single grain of platinum in the assortment of sand. Suika is a bit disappointed, and says she will go look for more in the river. Senkuu tells her its a hard mineral to find, so they should be grateful even for the little they have. He manages to identify more grains of platinum, and Gen is amazed at just how many decades it would have taken to collect that much platinum.

At this point, we cut to a flashback where we see Byakuya toiling through a river as he searches for platinum. He is with some kids (I'm assuming these are the kids of the other austronauts who were with him, Byakuya must have ended up outliving all of them in that case then. Byakuya tells the kids that he needs to pave the way for the future generation, by collecting as many rare metals as possible. During this task, he ends up collapsing, and the kids ask him why he's going so far. He tells them simply its because he is an astronaut. Earth's last one, that is.

We get a panel where we see Senkuu petrified, but counting down the seconds to keep his mind active and avoid falling asleep. Byakuya explains to someone (?), that once he dies, he should take the materials he has collected so far and place them in the capsule. Eventually, Byakuya collapses in the river, having grown to a ripe old age. His son is still counting down the seconds that have passed since the petrification incident. Happy that he gets to die while facing upwards, since space is reflected off the river's surface, we get a pretty awesome panel here where Senkuu is looking upwards, while his father stares downwards. Making them look as if they are facing each other.

The flashack ends here, and Gen is genuinely touched by how similar Senkuu is to his father. Senkuu says that things like that don't matter, saying that he wasn't even blood related to Byakuya. According to him, he is the son of Byakuya's best friend, but he was never really interested in those details. They don't matter anyway, but he is grateful to Byakuya for what he did for him. At this point Senkuu unveils several test tubes containing platinum in them, stating that it's the start of the infinite revival formula machine.

My thoughts on the chapter are that it was a pretty emotional chapter. The best part being Byakuya's dedication to searching for platinum, that was genuinely one of the best moments in the whole series. For some reason though, I don't think things will go as smoothly from now on. I still expect Senkuu and his gang to get captured by Jafar (A bit eery how he hasn't done anything noteworthy yet), but for now, they will manage to make enough formula to revive the people petrified on the ship (Suika will come in handy here). Also, I'm wondering if we will explore the other materials in the gold sand. It would be nice exploring an angle where all the platinum is taken by Jafar, just so we can see Senkuu getting angry/annoyed at his father's hard work being taken by someone else.

I still call dibs on the theory of Senkuu's real dad being the final boss of the series

Chapter rating: 8.5/10.
