Greetings, and salutations once more :nod

Science is family

Family, by scientific definition, refers to people who share a connection to you. Whether by blood, DNA or marriage.
There is also the unscientific definition. Family refers to people you feel the closest to. A friend. A lover. A mentor. The people you share with your lowest, and highest moments.
Family is treasure, according to the great historical pirate, Edward Newgate.

Dr Stone as a manga, is more than just about the Science. It also focuses on the connections between people, which makes for some really beautiful writing.

For example:
(i) To You, 3000 years from now

9 chapters into Dr Stone, we get a glimpse of Senku's backstory with his father, Byakuya Ishigami. Ever since he was a little boy, Senku has been fascinated by Science. Even making it his dream to go to space one day. His father realized his son's passion, and since that day, he has done everything in his power to support his son's dream.

Even going as far as establishing a village for his son 3 millenia into the future, so his son wouldn't be lonely when he revived from the stone casing:

In his dying days, Byakuya spent them collecting platinum from the river bed, so that the petrification formula would be completed by his son.

So that by the end of it all, humanity would be revived

(ii) Heat Heart
Kaseki is the resident old character/sage of the Dr Stone verse.

As a resident of Ishigami village, he is the craftsman of the village, having designed things such as the bridge leading up to the village, Kohaku's shield and even Kinrou and Ginrou's spears. Though, in all his years working at the village, he has never had a kindred spirit. Someone who he could really share his passion of craftsmanship with. That is, until Science was introduced as a concept to him.

(iii) A Sister's love

Kohaku, the lead female character of Dr Stone has a sister called Ruri. Though, for as long as she could remember, Ruri has constantly been sick and bedridden, which has caused Kohaku to watch out for her sister.

She purposefully misbehaves, all so that her sister will be made the village shamaness, and have a reason to live on.

Of course, Ruri does get saved later through Science, and the two sisters managed to work things out with their father. Additionally, Ruri does manage to grow closer to her love interest through Science as well :p

(iv) Tsukasa Shishio
Initially an antagonist, before eventually becoming an antagonist, he has some of the best character interactions in the series. Like with Senku:

And his sister, Mirai. The reason why he became a pro wrestler was to raise money for her surgery, since she was brain dead. His little sister also loved the little lady mermaid, so he wanted to make her happy by collecting sea shells for her.

Even after fighting with Senku, reconciliation between the two was possible:

Of course, just like with adventure, there is the flip side of the coin when it comes to family. Family is always there to support your dreams, no matter how bizarre they are. Yes, even if your dreams are as minuscule as taking over a village:

Or quite literally, taking over the world :kukuku:

A parting note, from a wise philosopher :tem

THE FIGHTS

It is kinda known at this point that Mashima isnt really that known for absolutely amazing fights with steller writing. He is kinda hit and miss with his fights, but those that hit are actually pretty good and decent reads. It is no secret that Fairy Tail built a controversial reputation mostly on fights that happened in the second part of the series. Fairy Tail introduced everyones "favorite" power-up that is utilized by the main characters during fights, and the power is called the Power of the Feelings, which is understandably renamed by fans as the Power of Friendship which conquers all logic. It is what it is i guess, im no fan of it either but oh well.

Since its Mashima, Rave has some problems in its fights as well, but in my honest and very subjective opinion the problems are far far more harmless than what Mashima did with FT. People who love Fairy Tail will obviously tell you that the fights in FT are better, in the same way that i will tell you now that RAVE FIGHTS are better than FT fights, obviously cuz i love Rave and i treasure it greatly. Rave does have friendship speeches, but the power of feelings/power of friendship is not a power in Rave, its merely a speech, it does not give you a power-up. There are some mock "friendship" power-ups, but those are very few. The power of Rave is the closest thing to a friendship power-up since the power takes the hopes and beliefs of people and changes it into power for Haru to use. It sounds meh, but Its honestly far far more tolerable than the power of friendship in my opinion.

Anyways there are many fights in Rave, and they are very dynamic and fun. Most of the fights have logic and they are handled in a smart manner. The fights are pretty bloody and savage at times and also epic with cool and memorable moments. While The BIG BOSS fights are always the biggest standout, there are also quite interesting grunt fights (not all of them), and fights against second in command and other stronger underlings of each factions. Like i mentioned in my previous campaign, there are a lot of various powers that characters use, and since there are a lot of various powers there a lot of different fights where various powers are utilized.

Some examples to hook you all:

also known as "You're in way over your heard" fight

And many many more .... i dont wont to spoil it that much :xp
you got all kinds of fights that are decently written imo

THE ART

Compared to the seinen type art of Dr Stone, Rave cant really compete. Why mention it then? Well why not, ive talked pretty much about everything there is to talk about when it comes to Rave. The early art of Rave did not age that well. Its Mashima's start and big time beginning, so he was still discovering his style and was slowly starting to improve. But after 3 or 4 volumes, the improvement is very visible. Though by the time you reach volume 4 and 5 the story and characters will charm you enough so that you wont really mind the early art that much.

The early art. Not spectacular, but it has charm.

Improvement

More improvement

More improvememnt

and then there are more and more improvements with a loooot of beautiful drawing and character models ...
.... to see it for yourself, you definitely will have to read it and experience Mashima's growth as one of the most
charming and best shonen artist in the industry.

..... vote Rave?
Yep, Vote Rave :verily

Yep definitely give a vote if you liked what you've heard and seen at this point :xp
