Q: Do I have to like soccer to like Captain Tsubasa?
A: It isn't necessary. Among the readers, there are soccer fans, others who aren't. Among people who don't like it, there are also soccer fans. Captain Tsubasa, even if it has realistic elements, is still a fantasy soccer manga, and the fantasy elements can be displeasing for people who only like realism.
Q: I have watched the anime/haven't watched the anime/liked the anime/didn't like the anime, is it worth reading the manga?
A: Yes. Most people know it because of the old anime shown pratically everywhere, but there is much more to it. Among readers, even if there are people who were fan of the anime, some people didn't watch it or didn't like it. I'm among them. Even if you know the anime you'll notice differences in pace, events, and of course not everything was adapted into anime, so you'll learn many new things. The newest arcs were never or badly adapted in anime.
