Misaka for me. Apart from Clare the others are kinda overshadowed by the cast, Misaka has more presence. I like her more too.

Not true. Misaka stars in a show without any significant male characters. Railgun has entirely female cast.

Other than being a typical shonen girl, what is she?? Anyone who read Claymore can't say that Clare is just a shonen girl. And the video you have linked for is just to show a badass side of her.. Which wouldn't turn me at all because yeah Claymore fans see beyond this and look for why should I love her? What is she? What is her personality? How was her past? How much did she develop as a character and as a lead character in the story? These questions matter more to me than anything else.. Plus the original series is not hers as she is the second main not the main and this is a kind of spin off.. At least Clare gets a full main series for her.

Perhaps surnames may be easier in this matchup...

I vote for Mikoto. Ackerman is cool and all, and I wouldn't think her undeserving, but Mikoto has much better interactions with the rest of the cast.
Also, Mikoto's power is awesome - her back story also

Well I can't choose both are not bad, Mikasa is quite good but SNK's hype is quite boring me. So I don't really know...

Mikasa is too shallow.. Misaka at least has a character not like being the prince that saves the princess Eren which is the only role Mikasa has.

Nevermind me.. BTW, this will be a tough fight. Both have been great and badass in their own ways. I haven't watched Railgun and Index though, but I've seen many news about that anime.
