Nomination Rules

Participants are allowed to change one nominee each. To request a change, post what nomination you would like removed along with your new nomination.

Nominations will be open from December 22, 2013 until January 4, 2014. The second round will begin on January 7, 2014 allowing the staff 48 hours to count nominations.

No idea, i based my nomination on the OVA list on MAL which lists Yamato as OVA

I count it as a special. The OVA's came out first, beginning in 2012. Technically new volumes were in theaters first, but new volumes were only screened for a month, in limited (twelve) theaters.

I voted for Little Witch Academia. It was such a delightful, well told story, and a great preview of what Trigger was capable of.

Accel World EX, loved it and if I remember it had my favorite songs from the ost on it and it looked gorgeous too. It was really something special for such a definitive anime of the game variaty.

I never looked into Little Witch Academia, seemed like something I wouldnt like.

Space Battleship Yamato deserves to win. The remake is a masterpiece, one of the best anime (any format) of the last two or three years. The other candidates are just bonus episodes. All pleasant, but they are all technically filler, not part of the main story of their series. Yamato was primarily released as a special, only airing on TV after the fact.

Pokemon was too rushed pushing off some of the battles to just text and then the blatant advertising for the new games was annoying.

Yamato is the best choice, was my second experience to yamato (after well hearing the song in Oofuri all the time), and just delivered on being glorious sci fi fun. Its what is needed in anime and we need more entries for it overall.
