My new year's resolutions for 2020.

#2 Do more 3D printing and CNC hobbyist stuff, 3D paper models. More DIY.

#6 Do more stock market trading, more finance.
...

Its been a year. We're looking @ 2021 resolutions. What type of progress have I made.

My 3D printer is still in its box. I haven't even assembled it yet.

There are things in finance & elsewhere I've wanted to try for more than a year I haven't followed through on.

An entire year passed without me making progress on some things.

...

This is a thread for future success & failure with some things I do.

In the hope others might be entertained by or perhaps learn from my mistakes.

File under #plant and #food stuff.

Garlic propagation attempt #1
(Never tried this before, zero experience)

Garlic clove from supermarket.

Broken up and fragmented into respective portions.

< They say the flat end produces roots | the pointy end sprouts and leaves >

Arrayed in water with flat (root) end pointing downwards. If everything goes according to plan, each fragment produces roots and sprouts. If they develop enough I'll plant in soil and eventually have full grown garlic plants. Some of which would be fragmented and replanted to produce more plants.

Containers are the cut off bottom of a 2 liter bottle on left, lid of a 2 lb peanut container on right.

Attempts @ re-using plastics.

Update.

All of my garlic rotted and died. Smelled disgusting.

:invalid

Need to find a better supply of garlic for it to work.

Will try again when I figure out what went wrong and how to fix.

Made a papercraft frontman mask from squid game.

Its kind of creepy, but looks cool.

Guilty geek pleasures.

You probably didn't use organic garlic, did you? It's also almost certainly old. You want to at least use organic garlic, or just seed garlic from a vendor.

1st batch was labeled "organic" but apparently not.

2nd batch was labeled organic and sprouted perfectly in water.

Main difference I noticed was the non-organic garlic smelling much much worse than the true organic variety.

Maybe I'll update the thread later, with more of the silly stuff I do.

Old daz3d renders.

Daz3d is the current gen version of old school poser software.

Select 3d model. Eye color, hair color, clothing, body poses and accessories from drop boxes. (There is even a slider tab for body BMI.)

Character designs can be exported and imported into unity/UE4.

...

Have to get some new material.
