Welcome to the Gates of Knowledge!

Well, FMA finally got a child boards of it's own, and this is the Gates of Knowledge. This is basically the library of the section, if you lurk around any other parts of the forum, this is to FMA what the Toshokan or Biblioteca is to Naruto and Bleach. Here you can post anything FMA related. There are a couple rules though, so if you're feeling a bit like our friend Edward is in this pic, just keep reading.

1. Be Smart.
Remember to make your posts thoughtful and always try to invite good discussion, and have respect for other people's opinions. If we feel that you are deliberately looking to start trouble or to annoy people, don't expect either your thread or posts to last very long.

If you want to make jokes, that's fine, but do it within an already existing thread. Don't start threads just to be a comedian - it tends to lead to spamming since people won't have much to talk about except react to your joke. So please don't make threads dedicated to "joke theories" here.

As long as your post is related to the topic of the thread, it won't be considered spamming or off-topicism. Have fun.

2. Be Neat.
We like to keep the Gates of Knowledge as sparkly clean as possible.

Look to see if a thread about your interest already exists: If you are making a series of comments related to Chapter *blank*, and there's already a Chapter *blank* Comments thread created here, go there instead of creating a separate thread. If you are looking to discuss Xing Country Alchemy, then look for the correct Discussion thread about Xing Country Alchemy. Don't clutter the Gates of Knowledge up with threads all about the same subject.

Make your titles very clear: if you are creating the thread, please make sure that the topic is sufficiently self-explanatory in the title instead of making it something like 'OMG What the heck happened here?' Please, please, don't do that - if you make vague titles, even if you have an excellent first post, be prepared to see the title changed by the moderators here to better reflect the subject of the thread.

If what you want to discuss happened in the last chapter, please discuss it in the discussion section of the forum. Seeing as FMA comes out monthly, we understand that this is harder to do than for a manga that comes out weekly. All we ask is that you wait a week or two before you start threads in the Gates of Knowledge that happened in the most recent chapter.

The only exception is... if you come up with a theory centering on the most recent developments, and it's a thoughtful post, and you want to make a single thread out of it, then feel free to do it. Just be sure to include the number of the chapter in it to go along with "Theory." It might also be wise to PM one of the moderators here with your post first to get approval first.

3. Be Considerate.
We have a nice community here. Let's keep it that way. If you make a lot of offensive posts - anything sexual in nature, for example - they'll be deleted. If you include a lot of vulgarity in your posts, that won't be tolerated too often either. So don't be immature and silly, and you'll be just fine.

Most of all, remember to have fun and enjoy yourself in the company of other FMA lovers. If you have something that you feel like you can contribute with and you might not be sure where to post it, just send one of the moderators here a PM and we'll help you out.

You can download the Edited Mangas here, but please please please do not use their translations for your own scans, and do not modify their Edited Mangas. 'nuff said.
