Typesetting Font Identification and Recommendations

This thread is for people to ask about fonts. Whether you need help finding a font you saw somewhere or need advice on what kind of font to use for a certain manga, this is where you can get answers.

• If you need a font identified, post an image and someone else may know the font or a similar one and tell you and then you will be happy.
• If you need a font recommendation for a certain thing, post a description of what kind of font you're looking for and/or an image from the raw of the manga, and someone else can recommend a font they find appropriate.

Font Resources:

• What The Font -- Upload an image to be analyzed and get a list of similar looking fonts.
• What The Font Forum -- Post and image to see if anyone recognizes the font, hey just like this thread.
• Fonts2u, Dafont and 1001fonts -- Websites with tons of free fonts.

This sticky was patched together from all previous font threads that fit this category, so you will notice alot of posts are edited by me and have different post times, that's so that the posts stayed in the same order. Also the actual creation date of this sticky is April 16th, 2011.

Fonts for mangascans... Where can I download?

I've a question...
I have been serching for a font called ANIME ACE, but a full version. The one I got is only basic, so, a lot of characters are missing...
I need a link where I can download it.
I'm doing mangascans to spanish, and the font really doesn't work for me...

I've been looking for japanese fonts for my fansubs, but they're hard to find...
I just found them only with Hiragana or Katakana, but I need with Kangi too.
The more unique (like handwriting-style or whatever) the font, the best.

Thanks for taking the time to find that out, I'm sure others will find the font handy . People might also like the "monash archive" (search google) it has a lot of japanese related stuff as well .

ah- and just fyi, it's kanji

looking for a font

i have been looking for a free version of this font for a while and the font is ccJimLee. It costs like 70 bucks to get it and i have no money so speak of, so i was wondering if anyone could hook me up

Whow.... This one took me longer to find than I thought.

But yes, this font does cost $69.99, which is pretty ridiculous, but hey, it's a business.

Anyway, download the file attachment, it's there.

It's called Hzs_CCJimLee.ttf

Of course, just put it in your C:/Windows/Fonts folder.

You know, though, this looks an awful lot like Wild Words, Anime Ace, etc., etc....

That is definitely not manga temple. And anime ace looks a lot like Wild Words.
It also looks a lot like Letter-O-Matic
