Have anyone read the news about Michael Schumacher becoming a test-driver for Ferrari? Talk about testing the car MAX!!! (sorry for the Eyeshield 21 reference :D). I can imagine Ferrari making all their drivers racing against Schummi before signing their contract. "You beat him, we'll sign you. You can't beat him, there's the door."

That will be fun, Ichi.

You know what, Vettel and Schumacher just won the ROC Nations Cup.

http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2007/12/7186.html

Seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher and team mate Sebastian Vettel beat 2006 victors, Team Finland, to clinch the Nations Cup for Germany at this year’s Race of Champions (ROC). Swedish competitor and former DTM champion Mattias Ekstrom, meanwhile, won the final solo event to be crowned the 2007 ‘Champion of Champions’.

The annual showdown, which sees national teams of world-renowned drivers compete in a variety of machinery, took place at Wembley stadium in London on Sunday. Other Formula One drivers in action included Renault’s Heikki Kovalainen, Honda’s Jenson Button and Red Bull’s David Coulthard.

Initially it looked as though Team Finland had the edge in the finals with Kovalainen taking victory in the opening race, after Schumacher stalled on the start line. Toro Rosso driver Vettel, however, brought the German pair back into contention after a spectacular victory against world rally champion Marcus Gronholm. The twenty year-old then went on to win the third - and final - round to clinch the cup.

“I didn’t expect that,” explained Vettel. “I had a strong team mate in the beginning when I needed help. After that it was quite good. I raced against Marcus in his own car; so almost like in his living room! I was already putting together all my excuses; I didn’t expect to win at all!”

Schumacher also made it to the finals of the concluding ‘Champion of Champions’ event after beating four-time Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais in the semi-finals. Despite winning one round against Ekstrom, the 38 year-old missed out on clinching the crown after spinning on the final corner of the concluding race. The German, however, is hoping to compete again next year.

“This is my first time racing after my retirement,” explained the former Ferrari driver. “In previous years if you race in F1 you have a lot of pressure. You are determined and focused and at this time of year, I just liked to switch off. Now it’s different so I’m open for fun events such as this. I hope I get an invitation next year!”
He is still good in car racing, as expected. :whoo

Re: Formula 1 - Official Thread

I cheer for Massa, but Hamilton will most likely win. Ferrari has made some unforgivable mistakes this year and Massa is a unlucky guy. ( That GP he was in first and his car broke in the last 3 laps proved that to me )

I believe Massa will win, but the championship is most likely to be decided in te last race, and every single point must be important, just like last year.

Re: Formula 1 - Official Thread

The main contestors for the championship are always on the first positons except for Kubica...
I believe Alonso may surprehend us all in these final Grand Prixes... And I believe the other forum members are more interested in F-Indy and Nascar... But someone may come one of these days, it's just a matter of time.

Looks like Hamilton is close to being the champion this year, but Massa still holds a hope to get his place. I don't wish Lewis to crash or something like that, but he could get stuck in some sort of incident and mark no points in Brasil's GP... :p

Re: Formula 1 - Official Thread

Yea, he's very close, but Massa have his chances.
After Kubica's 'bad' race, he don't have any possibilities of win the champion

Nascar is REALLY boring, but, What can we do?

So:

Re: Formula 1 - Official Thread

Hi, Imperium... I cheer for Massa, but Hamilton sure has a good advantage; the last races showed there's no way to tell who's going to win.
Qualifying results show that Massa got the upper hand, but every second of this race shall have a lot of emotions!!! Hope the drivers don't get too overwhelmed and leave the fair-play behind, like some of this years' races. It would be vey disappointing to have the championship decided by the disqualification of either Massa or Hamilton...

I don't like Hamilton's attitude, he's too cocky.

Re: Formula 1 - Official Thread

That was true, Agrias. Germans decided the championship between a Brazlian and a British.

Even though I think Hamilton is somewhat snobbish, I believe he deserved this title as much as Massa would. Last two years showed that F1 can really be a emotion-full sport, with champioships won in the last seconds... I believe it is a great thing!!!

It was a great race, as some of the other GPs were, and both Ferrari and McLaren made nice strategies. F1 2009 may be even better, let's watch!!!

To be honest I wouldn't put him in the legends list yet but the season has so many uncertainties hard to say he is back or not.

Re: (FI) Formula 1 - Official Thread

Schumacher has 99 wins in his career, if I'm not mistaken. It'd be awesome to see his 100th win after he retired :p

Re: (FI) Formula 1 - Official Thread

Will it definitely be something extraordinary if Shumi manages to win one more. And I am too glad to see Massa alright. I am not liking how business in F1 has been lately. The budget cap and all the fiasco have put some dents in F1.
