Fate is a cruel mistress, isn't it? Goodluck @revo - All is fair in love and war, so may the best win! :blush

So how to pick between these stories, one of which I've read obviously - and the other is one that my cute opponent really loves. It's a difficult decision, I understand. So I've tried to make this choice a little easier for you all.
Let's see, why should you vote for Spy x Family (and therefore not Haikyu) again?

Haikyuu!! just concluded as the longest-running WSJ sports manga with an ending that pleased just about everyone who reads it, which can't be said for the recent big hits that ended. Haikyuu!! for the finals!

Part I. Introduction
Part II. Character writting
~Interlude~

Part III
The matches and the symbolisms

Apart from the big cast and good character writting, HQ! focuses mostly, of course, on matches.
Even for a shonen manga, Haikyuu does great when it comes to "action scenes" (aka the matches between the different teams), which is a big good feat for shonen genere.

It has nothing such an over imaginary setup: no ultra talented characters, no ridiculous killer moves, no extremely dangerous trainings that sometimes feel too unrealistic even for any shonen, and there's zero "super hero" plot.

It actually shows pretty accurate picture of what sport is in reality while maintaining an interesting story.

Again, what's so good about Haikyuu too is that you don't need to know or fully understand what vollyeball is to truly enjoy the series, Furudate knows how to perfectly stage action and show player skill enough to keep things both generally and visually interesting.

Another big important aspect is the creative art style.
When it comes to a simple, realistic world-building of normal people playing sports, HQ! art is creative when it comes that it's full of symbolisms in order to make the common, realistic world-building of simple players an actual interesting thing to watch when it comes to the asthetic and also meaning of the characters.

Most of the character designs are pretty unique and do a good job of sending the right signals to the reader; you can tell which characters are supposed to be intimidating, which are supposed to be endearing, and everything.
The art also does a great job of conveying the high speed movement of many of the characters and the direction/curve of the ball when it’s hit, as if it's about a shonen battle scene; it's like a perfect photo that it's taken that really captures the moment in a great way.

There's a mixture of high-intensity, back-and-forth, riveting games and the more, easily-decided games,
But whatever the situation, the players always find new ways to grow, new skills and techniques to learn.
The way the sport is portrayed is so vivid and enjoyable all by itself that such appreciation becomes contagious. In writing it, Furudate sets out on an evangelical mission to convert as many people as possible into volleyball fans and players, and does so very successfully in my opinion.

This is what makes Haikyuu different from other sports but also shonen genere in general, because not only the tactics,
moves and techniques and the author's delivery of it overall spectacular, but, it also manage to stick close to reality.

So there you have it:

● An astonishing protagonist.
● An awe-inspiring cast of characters.
● A simple yet sublime plot.
● A shonen with a balance of drama, sport/action and comedy.
● All tpye of different breathtaking relationships: not everything is about only rivals, and not everything is about only friendships.

Please give HQ! a chance!
