Since we have a thread for 80’s Movies, I thought it would be more than fair to have a thread for 80’s Music as well. After all, the decade of the 80’s did have some pretty awesome music. :cool:

So with that in mind, what are your favorite songs from the 80’s? What are your favorite bands/artists from the 80’s?

Here are some of my favorite 80’s songs:

1982-Thriller (Michael Jackson)

1983-Flashdance... What a Feeling (Irene Cara)

1985-How Will I Know (Whitney Houston)

1983 - Total Eclips Of The Heart (Bonnie Tyler)

1985 - I Want to know what love is – Foreigner

1989 – Right Here Waiting (Richard Marx)

I'll go with albums, as songs are just wayyy too difficult to pick.

Some of the best (imo) albums of the 80's:

Tom Waits - Rain Dogs and Swordfishtrombones
Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska, The River and Born in the U.S.A.
The Rolling Stones - Tattoo You
Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
AC/DC - Back in Black
J. Geils Band - Freeze Frame

Are a few from the top of my head... Will expand the list later, perhaps. When I'm not so tired.

Oh, also, one of the best live albums ever to be released, The Concert in Central Park by Simon & Garfunkel!

I completely agree with you. That is one of the greatest MV I have ever watched. In fact, I can’t listen to the song without thinking of the video immediately. Another song from the 80’s that makes me think of its MV as soon as I start listening to it is:
