...

Timestamp 5:50 above was published on june 2nd 2022.

They compare the level of lake mead to video shot & published around may 16th 2022.

From video evidence we can see the water level of lake mead declined by around 4 feet in a two week period.

While some might point the finger at this being evidence of climate change.

It is possible that another narrative emerges.

The population of las vegas supplied by lake mead has grown incredibly over time.

In the 1950s the population was less than 250,000 residents. :cookiefinger

Today there are more than 3 million people living in the same region. Trying to survive on the same limited water supply that once fed 10 times smaller a population.

From time to time, people might notice signs like these:

There is a limit as to how many people can safely occupy the same area.

When those safety limits are exceeded tragedy and loss of life can occur:

...

Long story short: is it possible for the world to be overpopulated?

What does everyone think?

Yes it is. Overpopulation led to climate change. Covid-19 killing people was a good thing. Thinning out the (stupid) population. Weather got better.

Not to detract from your overall point (and I have not watched the vid) but the only reason a drop like that can happen to my knowledge, in such as short time, is lack of inflows. So there's probably another impoundment upstream that is not releasing. You should find any information related to this on a government website, and possibly there is a public notice for it. That's not to say increased population or climate change have not contributed to the current situation - but the use of this decline is not a fair representation of the situation.

The Southwestern US has been in a drought for something like two decades now, it's only currently the worst it's ever been in like 1200 years supposedly. So it might not be related to the drought itself like you said, but it makes for some pretty crazy images.

Definitely a scary thing, I wish them luck (rain).

The main reason the US population continued to grow is thanks to immigration. If not, the population would have shrunk, which is only a matter of time. Population growth has slowed for various parts of the world, ranging from Germany to Japan to China. Areas like Africa are projected to have a surplus population, but could be wrong given the huge increases in the standard of living plus skipping over industrialization that over continents went through.

In 1950 the global population was 2.5 million people.

2022 our population has reached 8 million people.

We have achieved 3x growth in 72 years.

Japan is criticized for its shrinking population.

But maybe they have the right idea, despite their trend being a counter culture one.

Legit moisture farming. 👨‍🌾

This claims 40% of the world's population faces water shortages due to water table depletion

With 2 billion lacking access to safe drinking water.

The line about a significant number of trees in africa being lost to automatic weapons fire at 3:25 was a bit suspect though?
