District Hakkenshi [code:T-8] is my favorite title running in this, I enjoy the art and the Shino Inozuka is really good looking, and also the Hakkenden story in the modern age with blights and such is fun. Really the highlight of the service.

I'm reading these:
Monday: Kaze no Stra / Logick / Ningen Deshita
Tuesday: Takatou Shounen no Jikenbo / Billion Dogs
Wednesday: Kunoichi Joshikousei Otonashi-san / Tenkuu Shinpan
Thursday: Patrol Musume Ikkimasu! / Tokku Hakkenshi [code:t-8] / Nadenade Shikoshiko. / Ana Satsujin / Sailor Fuku, Tokidoki Apron
Friday: Akoya Tsutaya
Saturday: Onimote / Green Worldz / Araidoki.
Sunday: Wanko Number One / Horizon / Hatsukoi Shinjuu / Rakunou Milk!

First reading the new chapter in Japanese, then rereading in English when it becomes available. Also started reading "Kaeru no Ossan" in Japanese and planning to start "Take Dake Dake!" since it looks like they're not considering the English versions of those. Also damn Play Store, thanks to it several manga became unavailable and other are now censored at some places.

Oh, and speaking about news - Chinese language was added in the latest update.

Wo-ow, that's kinda scary. It feels like every time I update their home page they add a new work :gwah
And now they've added manga from this media mix project.

This was featured in a column by Jason Thompson.

He makes some good points.

I like Manga Box, but I'm sort of waiting for the other shoe to drop, because it's obviously going to have to change a lot over the next few months. "Put out a ton of manga for free with no advertising" is not a business model, so I assume that to monetize, the app will eventually have to take some of the manga off the site and either sell some kind of ebooks, or offer a paid premium subscription service of some kind. But even if the whole site collapses next week, I won't regret a second I spent reading it: hey, it's free. And there's a lot of it. The boom of new manga content on licensed digital devices makes the Tokyopop Manga Boom of 2002 look like a trickle, and even if there's a few bad ones and badly drawn ones in the lot, that's totally fine. Good manga are interesting, but so are really bad manga and weird and rugged and "not ready for prime time" ones. Manga should be surprising, and the best compliment I can pay to Manga Box is that I was surprised.

It seems a new manga was added this week Genji the Death's Friend by Seimaru Amagi & Minami Ozaki.

Kind of wish they had some english account that would tweet updates.

Looks like they're planning to release the first tank around May:
最初の単行本は5月ごろから発売予定。
Also Patrol manga has ended, and I was human is pretty much around there too (7th chapter was the last but there will also be a special chapter next).

Aaaand Rakunou Milk! was blocked for Android users as well. Well, considering all these talks about
mating and pig's dicks
it's not that surprising.

I've installed the app a few days ago (both iOS and Android), read most of the series on there already. Few left to go.

I'm not familiar with most of these mangakas, but the Horizon manga reminds me of Gamaran, in style and execution, is it perhaps an old assistant of Yousuke?
I saw that Old Man Frog used to be serialized in Shonen Rival, and both Area no Kishi and Shingeki no Kyojin have related manga running in here.

All of these series came from Kodansha, so my question is, how does this work?
MangaBox is going to release it's first tank in May, does Kodansha come in play somehow?

Were do the other mangaka's come from, are there beginners and experienced ones?
Do other companies like Kodansha have their authors on MangaBox?

The ones behind the Tokku Hakkenshi [code:t-8] did the manga Get Backers, Majestic Prince, and were serialized in that weekly kodansha magazine, so I think they would count as experienced.

So they're planning to start releasing tanks on May 9th, huh.

Speaking about their mangaka I'm planning to update this post when I'll have a bit more time on my hands and deliver more detailed information.

Something between VOMIC and Flash anime for the 1st chapter of Ana Satsujin/Peephole.

Dunno this looks more like some card/flayer to me. Maybe I'm not that familiar with tank sizes though (only have two volumes at home).
Volume sizes depend on what imprint they're being published under, but weekly and anything related to weekly magazines are generally the smallest. It should say what imprint is on the top of the spine, although I think they mentioned they were making a new one for Manga Box titles.
