[Marmalade]

Hi everyone!

I'm Marmalade and I want to welcome you all to my tiny gallery here on MH. I'll mainly fill it with paintings, the occasional drawing and photograph. I like to play around in photoshop too.

Finally able to get back in the art game and trying to brush up my - lacking - skills. And why not share that with you guys? When I was a kid I used to draw a lot, but was always afraid to ruin pictures with colour. So after awhile, I stopped trying to colour things. And to be fair, I still have a bit of colour anxiety. But let's get over that fear, shall we?


Past months I've been mainly working on watercolour paintings, which in my eyes is a scary medium. Lack of control and easy to mess up with. It's still something that's very satisfying when it does end up looking nice, especially when you initially thought you messed up.

ah blue flowers~ we are currently renovating our house and I planned to grow some species of blue flowers for the new house. I might pick this as well. What flower is this?

@Kiki thank you for your kindness. The plant with the blue flowers is a Hortensia, lots of people have them in their gardens here!

Maybe you should focus on your own drawings

For the bird I used the following colours:
- Cadmium Yellow
- Cadmiun Red light
- Scarlet
- Permanent Violet
- Prussian blue
- Burned Sienna
- Burned Brown
- Coal Black
Probably missing some colours I forgot but this should be the gist of it~

Hey Marm! What's your experience with oil on canvas so far?

I think oil on canvas is the type I'm least experienced with to be honest! (materials can be a bit expensive unfortunately - Acrylics is so much cheaper haha). Do quite like it, especially seeing it's one of the more forgiving paints (and the fact that there is no rush in finishing a layer).

I highly recommend spamming @Kiki with cat pics. (I was placed third on the artist leaderboard last year, first, second and third place get their gallery stickied)
