As this event is celebrating 10 years of the series, please note this spans from the first official chapter of the decade; ch569, released in 5th Jan 2009 and the decade ends with ch966, officially released 23rd Dec 2019.

Also worth noting that only manga material are relevant to this event when it comes to nominating. However for referencing/ promotional purposes feel free to use anime pictures.

As we've lost our regular sources for reading the series, our main source for this event in terms of material will be Mangasee.

Senor Pink's backstory. Bring your own napkins.

Minks had been hiding Raizou. The moment you realise their entire town was gassed, their lords were crucified, an entire colony were prepared to die to save one man. Unreal.

Kuma, slave to the Celestial Dragons. This for as brief as it was, really moved me. A character who's motivations were revealed to protect our crew is reduced to a slave, a puppet to these Celestial Dragons. A king, a kind man.

Honorable mention goes to Jinbei and Luffy's blood transfusion and also Kamazou being revealed to be Killer; being driven insane.

Oh the revelation of Smile devil fruits.

Adding the epic scene where Zoro begs Mihawk to train him from chapter 597.
Putting aside his pride to support Luffy... the relief in his face when Mihawk agrees...

I hesitate to put on stuff like "Sanjis past" or "Laws Past", because those are longer sequences with several scenes, not really moments imho. I think of moment more as an one scene. "Senor Pinks Past" is kinda of an expection I might agree on, because it's a lot shorter and told in one condensed montage-like sequence.

You can pick really single moments from those flashbacks. Like "Corazon dying to help Law get away" or "Sanji being locked away in a metal mask by his own father". There are several emotional hooks in both stories, and I thus think they don't really fit in this category. As an alternative, I'd consider including them in the best character category, and as for Law, not forgetting that there is actually a best death category as well.

Indeed, those happened way over an decade ago. The eligible stuff is from roughly from Marineford arc to Roger vs Whitebeard clash.

I take it Ace's Death and Aftermath include "Dadan's scene" with Garp, so I'll vote for that choice because of that scene. Ace's death and the reaction around MF was emotional, but WB's death stole the show there. All these badasses crying for their dead 'father' made me emocat.

Obviously voting for Zoro's plea, that man, sheathing his pride for his captain. I'm tearing up here.

I went for Ace's death and the minks hiding Raizou. Whitebeard's death is very impactful and emotional but for me Ace's death has more weight for us readers because of his relationship to Luffy, our main protagonist.

As for the minks' moment, that one is just because I didn't see that coming at all. As I mentioned before during the nomination, everything that they endured with Jack's attack on their land, the torture of their dukes; having accepted their fate to hide an ally. Just so moving.

Chopper may be an annoying character and hsi arc not the best, but that ending was golden.

Not so strange since this whole event is devoted to the years 2010-2019 (thus "Best of a Decade"). The chapter where Hiluluk dies was released in 2000.

so that was what Decade meant. it was Literally Decade, guess I misunderstood that. In that case emotional moments lowers.
