My first attempt at coloring

I saw a very awesome piece of one piece fan art that was colored amazing, so I was spurned on to learn how to color line art so that I could tackle the beast myself. This is my first coloring, completely from scratch (using a plain black and white sanji drawing). I'd like some critique on how you guys think I could improve:

it looks very cool. I dont think i can help with the coloring but i like the coloring style

looks neat and nice for a first try. you might wanna smoothen the highlights on his pants a bit though. otherwise, good overall!

Gloves and pants I think I did a good job on, the towel was done sloppily.

the thing i see is that the light source is inconsistent in the luffy drawing. I mean from the gloves i think the ligt is coming from the top righyt but the top of the afro isnt highlighted and throughout the body it is difficult to tell

I see what you mean, a friend of mine pointed that out too; the wig was forgotten about (not shaded) on first download and when I showed it too a friend he noticed so I quickly did the shading and reuploaded. I should probably touch up the wig shading. I'm curious as to whether there's any tips for keeping a light source consistent.

good coloring on the second one. however, you have some grays along the lineart on the front of his pants. im guessing this could be easily adjusted by unlocking the pixels and coloring over them. that is, if you use photoshop

Yeah I see what you mean, i'll correct that one. hey, i think ur coloring is pretty sweet. it has a lot of vibrant colors to it, which i like. its a little simple, and you could always add some more shades and highlights though. play around a little, especially with the lighting. it looks very clean and nice though!
