The countdown has ended to reveal a new Boruto manga series, to be illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto and written by Ukyo Kodachi with supervision from Masashi Kishimoto. Ikemoto previously worked as Kishimoto's chief assistant during the entire run of the original Naruto, and Kodachi was Kishimoto's writing partner for Boruto: Naruto the Movie and also wrote the Gaara Hiden novel.
Boruto will be a monthly series and is scheduled to start in Spring 2016. It will be preceded by a one-shot written and illustrated by Kishimoto himself.
The one-shot and monthly series will run simultaneously in the English Weekly Shonen Jump published digitally by Viz Media.
