Golden age 270: Misunderstanding

The coaches sit together to discuss the line-up for the upcoming round. Saitou suggests pairing Duke with Byoudouin for one of the doubles. Mifune lashes out at him and asks who's going to face Volk if not Byoudouin. Also, they're expecting Tezuka in singles, but don't believe that any of the Japanese middle schoolers can defeat him.
Kirihara has sneaked into the German camp to trail Atobe. He sees Atobe and Tezuka standing in front of the training center and how Tezuka hands Atobe a CD. He immediately gets the wrong idea and thinks the two of them are a pair of spies. He gets spotted by security guards who chase after Kirihara as he runs away.
Meanwhile, the match between Amadeus and Ralph continues. Amadeus is leading 6-5. He has determined that Ralph's biggest weakness is the heel of his back foot and targets it with Darkness. The shot is a winner and now Amadeus only trails 30-40, one point away from forcing a deuce on Ralph's service game.
Amadeus goes for another winner with Darkness, but this time, Ralph manages to return the shot aimed at his foot. Ryoma explains that the scariest thing about Ralph is his ability to overcome his own weaknesses - when he fails a shot once, he gets it right the next time. Amadeus is pushed back by the unexpected return and Ralph hits a drop shot winner to close out the game. With this, the first set enters a tiebreak. Ralph says that thanks to Amadeus, he has grown fond of that particular weakness of his.

As a minor note, the extra page reveals that the final team that qualified for the finals tournament was Mexico. As we know, they lost to Canada in the first round, though.

Golden age 271: The Best Four Decided

Tanegashima and Oishi meet up with the Greek representatives in a koala sanctuary. Zeus is holding a koala. Amane mixed in with the Greeks and makes a pun, only to get kicked by Kurobane, as usual. Zeus says that they will come cheer in the semis.
The match between Amadeus and Rhinehart ends. Ralph wins 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, earning America a ticket to the semifinals. The two captains talk as they shake hands. Amadeus praises Ralph's skill and says Ralph would be able to hold his own in the world of the pros even now. Ralph responds that what really deserves respect is how Amadeus participated in the tournament and put together such a formidable team such a short time after this year's pro tour ended.
The last quarterfinal has also finished: Spain defeats Russia 3-0.
Amadeus regrets the loss. Facing the sky with his eyes closed, he thinks that he once again didn't make it. But as he opens his eyes again, he sees his teammates lined up in front of and everyone saluting him.
Dodo spots Ryoma in the audience. The Americans are happy that Ryoma came to watch their match. Ryoma asks them about Ryoga. Dodo and Kiko say that he's probably wandering around somewhere. Ralph responds that Ryoma will surely get a chance to play Ryoga again someday. Finally, the US team says that they'll meet in the finals, all showing a raised fist. Ryoma returns the gesture and says he'll go and beat Germany first.

Golden age 272: Everyone's Day Before the Semifinals

Kirihara got caught by the security guards and is struggling. Fortunately for him, Bismarck passes by and claims Akaya's a friend of his, so the guards let him go. Bismarck then teases Kirihara, saying how lucky he is that it was Bismarck who came by and not one of the other Germans. He says Kirihara would've been thrashed if it had been Volk, taken to court if it had been QP, and turned into a cyborg if it had been Frankensteiner. It's all lies, though.
The conversation turns to tennis. Kirihara asks if Bismarck's the one who went up against Fuji in the Pre-WC. Bismarck confirms this, introducing himself as Michael Bismarck. He was impressed by how strong the Japanese middle schoolers are. Kirihara somewhat objects to this and says that the other still have a ways to go. But, Bismarck continues, the German middle schoolers are just as hungry for victory, and he's looking forward to the matches.
The scene shifts to Germany's practice courts. Siegfried has attained TnK and defeated Frankensteiner.
Camus is lying in the grass in a park with his racket. He talks to his racket, telling her that he had to make a tough decision for the sake of his teammates future, presumably referring to forcing Osval to forfeit the match against Sanada. Suddenly, Duke shows up and asks Camus for a match. Camus thinks Duke's request is odd, but also concludes that it might not be possible for someone to understand his style of tennis just by imagining it. Duke once again asks for a match. Something dawns on Camus and he asks Duke if he plans on playing against Germany, too.
Tokugawa is practicing against Oni and Irie. Yukimura shows up and interrupts them, asking if Tokugawa has time. Apparently they two of them have been practicing together every day since the Pre-WC. Oni says while Tokugawa and Yukimura stopped playing doubles together, they're still the only pair who can produce a Howling.
Atobe gives the CD he got from Tezuka to Fuji, Apparently, Tezuka had borrowed it from Fuji originally. Fuji asks if Tezuka is well, and Atobe responds that Tezuka is more than well. He also says Fuji shouldn't expect Atobe to run errands for him again.
At night, Mifune gathers the players. He says that the next day will be a big one, because they're going to take revenge on Germany and shake the world. He intends to announce the match order next. However, Kintarou and Sanada notice that Ryoma and Kirihara are missing.
It turns out that the two youngsters are facing each other on the practice court. Kirihara is struggling, but refuses to give up.
