This is an adaptation of novels by Masaki Yamada, who wrote these after the manga Basilisk (which was based on a novel by Futaro Yamada). The sequel will be set a decade after the original. Tatsuya Shihara will be providing the art (not Basilisk' mangaka Masaki Segawa). According to the article, the novels being used for this adaptation were also re-printed in 2015 - with Segawa's art featuring in the novels.
