For characters that have achieved something unique (the odder the better)

I'll give one to Atobe.

He is the only opponent of our main character, that Ryoma did not "out tennis" to win.

They were both totally equal in the match, and Echizen won because Atobe was too tired to serve. They're tennis was equal.

So Atobe gets the "Wasn't Outsmarted by the Kid" award and simultaneously "It's a little pathetic to have less stamina than a kid half your size" award.

As an aside I was recently rereading and this one can't be a special award cause well...Konomi has made other mistakes...

The ball is in.....

Most Unnecessary Character:
Horio's brother.

Why? It's bad enough with one uni brow in the series.

The guy who injured Tezuka needs more than a beating.

"Most Built Up Only to Get Nothing..."

Hmmm....this has to be close between Tachibana and Kin-Chan.....

"Biggest Fail on Paralleling a Real Life Player"

Momo

He clearly parallels Sampras, even in looks. And yet he's a baseliner!!!!!

Kaidoh is nothing like Nadal, looks or personality wise. I wouldn't say that is the best parallel. Yuki = Federer is the best.

I wonder what Rafael Nadal you've been watching? And what do you know about his personality? pretty much no one knows since he is always politically correct in his press conferences and interviews. Yukimura is like Federer though...down to the directness of their personalities and they don't pull their punches.

Running all over the court? unwavering tenacity, retrieving skills, lots of spin, master of the buggy whip reverse forehand? hugging the baseline? sound like Nadal and Kaido

Kaido hits with ridiculous amounts of spin and hits with curve shots, Nadals buggy whip forehand generates the most topspin on tour averaging 3200 rpm

Kaidoh may not look or act like Nadal. (cept for the bandana)

But his tennis and form are near identical.

Those are all a close three though.... I don't know who I'd vote.

Actually Nadals on court behaviour is a little is like Kaidos sans the cursing, they both scowl a lot on court, and Nadal becomes really really aggressive on court

Most "screw the rules" moment.
Ryoma and his Samurai Drive. Cutting a ball in half is...//cdi illegal you know? The point would have stopped right there.

Most ridiculously over the top moment.
Tezuka. You killed the dinosaurs. With a tennis ball. You win this award.

Most "wait, what?" moment
Zaizen not playing at all.

Big Lipped Alligator Moment
Kaidoh's devil mode.

Most informed talent
The Golden Pair. They won one important match in the manga. And on a curious note, Eiji never lost in the manga when he was paired with someone other than Oishi. Makes you wonder why everyone thinks they are awesome. They are like the Mai Valentine of Pot.

Most Narm Moment
Kawamura in the semi finals, getting BLOWN AWAY AND BLEEDING LIKE CRAZY BECAUSE OF A TENNIS SHOT. I know it was supposed to be dramatic, but I kept laughing throughout the whole thing.

Runner up: Kirihara's super saiyan devil mode in the nationals.

Best regenerating body
Atobe for getting his old hair look in just a few days back.

Great bulid up, then the let down
Tachibana vs Chitose. Tachibana played to Chitoses favor and Chitose had his eye injured... plus way too short.

Second Yukimura. Getting just owned by PoP like that...

Greatest logical mistake in the series
Echizen vs Yukimura: Remember Yuki leading 40-15 when Echizen had to serve and was falling 0-3 behind? Echizen using the Pinnacle of hard work there to win this point. But he missed the smash and so lost the game, thus was behind 0-4 with Yukis service. Then he achieved PoP and was serving but the score was still 0-4 .... it had to have 0-5!

Konomi confirmed in 40.5...that it is indeed a wig

Agreed 100%, i want to see what the wings of Kyushu can really do

Your right...he screwed up..the only you can make this work is by saying that it wasn't 15-40 on his serve thats the only way that this is possible
