Question: Is it necessary to translate author's notes?

Hello! I'm really sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place, I'm new lol

Anyways, like the title says, I'm wondering if it's really necessary to translate author's notes when Editing. I'm having trouble reading the handwriting, and I'm still learning Japanese so I'm not great at it yet lol. I know that I never read author notes when I come across them in licensed manga, so I'm wondering if it's even worth bothering.
