I'm waiting for this type of stuff to resurface in Berserk. Last, I recall, was back at the troll cave. Not that Berserk isn't still dark, but it's been mostly violent with only tinges of nudity and whatnot.

I agree, there has been nothing that has been shocking for awhile, by shocking I mean something really dark happening.

Really dark means something like rape? The most dark thing was the mass orgy in Albion if I recall, really it was referencing satanism and occultism, something like that was only for that arc special since it was a theme with religion. The trolls were similar but not as dark. I would suppose more graphic stuff as well counts as dark?

Pretty much, yes. I'm thinking the world is falling apart outside of the capital, just like on Isma's island. Also, apostles like eating humans so I don't think they will be content eating just animals.

Guts's inner struggles may also count as dark, him not moving might call for some graphic pictures of his struggle to overcome that. I do suppose for something really dark to occur there has to be one of the God Hand involved, like with the orgy and with the illness spreading in midland, both were influenced by the God Hand. In the Fantasia arc Miura is taking a different approach it seems, more flashy than dark monsters. Also a key factor is Griffith unleashing some of his dark apostle army onto the world form Falconia.

The way I see it, the story is going to get dark pretty soon. All the nobles that were against Griffith in the first place aren't going to be faithful servants. They'll probably try to conspire against him with gruesome results. The Godhand will undoubtedly create chaos throughout the world. Monsters that we've never seen before will probably wreak havoc. Good stuff around the corner.

Once Griffith has a crown placed over his head or until when they reach that massive castle it all will become dark.
Griffith all he wants is the kingdom so does he need all the humans after that? Maybe as a act to rule over them and be known as king griffith. After the first month there will people going missing and griffith will start to show his true self and then all the humans will be dead there. I want Sonia and duck to be killed (Charlotte raped by Griffith force to conceal a child and charlottes maid killed). But I feel like Miura has had enough of most of that and he will have those main humans escape and they'll find Guts and beg him to stop Griffith, the connection to that is duck and isirdro, sonia and sheike.

Sadly we fans may be waiting 4 years for this, so lets hope these 4 years will be fast. Because I can't see all this cover until after at least 30 chapters so 3 volumes. One to cover what guts and co are doing now.

I think the story will go back to Falconia after the defeat of the Seagod. The story is getting more interesting either way.

The trolls thing was kinda disturbing, not for the rape in itself, but because the girls raped by the trolls had their children in the most gruesome way possible. I was hoping for something like that in the final moments of the Sea God battle, with all those tentacles and mermaids (don't judge me) around, but unfortunately such dark, disturbing content was nowhere to be found. Only light nudity. =/

I think once we get over with the quest for Elfheim, Miura should really stop for a few chapters to draw some mass gang rape orgy. You know, just as a reminder that we're still reading Berserk and not some random shounen. I don't care if it happens between possessed elves, satanic unicorns or whatnot, gore and sexual violence can't be lacking in a manga like Berserk for so long until it ends up inevitably in another Eclipse like event.

I think the mass orgy that you are referring to will pale in comparison to what we will see once the story focuses on what Slan is doing to the world.

God I hope you're right. Slan is an amazing character and it would be a shame if she didn't get something like that (with "something like that" meaning the biggest f****** orgy Berserk has ever seen).

Anyway, besides Slan's rape fest and some sort of Ubik and his painting collection madness, I have no idea what Void's and Conrad's roles could be in the new world, as far as "dark, disturbing contents" go. Maybe the first will turn the world into a Hellraiser movie and the latter, I don't know, into a McDonald's or something.

I'd like to know if those last panels of the godhand (in the Fantasia episode) were literal illustrations of the godhand's alteration of the world or just their desired sephira. If it's the former, geez that's just f**ked up. I mean, how do fight those things in a Bosch painting world?

To be honest, I just can't see Guts fighting the God Hand straight on. You know, even fighting a mere apostle like Grunbeld seems hard enough, how could he ever kill transcendental beings like the God Hand? Their power is so immense that the only way I can think for him to defeat them is using the Behelit and becoming a god too. Either that or having a huge help from astral beings, like the Elemental Kings stepping in to fight the God Hand themselves.

As he is now, he couldn't possibly do it. Sure he has the brass balls to try, but that isn't enough. Look at SK - he's tried to attack head on AND by surprise and his attacks were nullified.

Guts also doesn't fully understand what he's dealing with. He doesn't have the experience that SK has in fighting them. There has to be a way around their ability to distort space and telekinetic powers. I've been thinking if the brand is related to the godhand, perhaps they themselves can also also be suppressed with magic? Maybe magic users or powerful astral entities can keep them from using their tricks long enough for Guts to kill them.

Do you think he could get some helps from the magic users that live in Elfhelm? I mean, if the recent chapters taught us something, is that imaginary beings don't always agree with each other, and Guts may have some powerful allies on his battles against Griffith and the God Hand. So, maybe, with a decent army of magic users, he could damage one member of the God Hand at a time, but it's kinda hard to tell since we don't know the true extent of their power in this new world.

At any rate, we do know that his sword has some power to damage godly beings. And if that doesn't work, well, he'll probably make that Schierke line literally true: "No matter how strong, for a human to fight a monster means he has submerged his humanity and transformed himself into a greater monster."

Anything is possible, he did impress the merrows when they learned he took out the Seagod.

he will tame the armor and merge SK's sword to his...becoming the Berserk's version of Ultraman
no shit....my prediction
:toc

as far as darkness goes...
I think caska will experience quite a bit once she gets her memories back...look at gats plight so far as she romps around like a kid on easter lookin for eggs

as for gats...I think Griffith will resurrect the old band to really stab gats in the heart....
