actionmangas i would recommend:
Bleach,
Samurai Deeper Kyo,
D.Gray-Man,
King Of Thorns (should count more as adventure, but still very good shounen),
Peace Maker & PM Kurogane (maybe less action, but when there is, it's really good nice storyline too)
Busou Renkin (it should qualify for this genre too)
Rurouni Kenshin
Gun Blaze West (too bad it was dropped by watsuki (the mangaka))

No it's not. As far as shounen goes it's probably the funniest, most creative, deep and intelligently written one.

It is, since as soon as you don't like the artists drawings, the whole things goes down the drain for you.
or do you like to read a manga, when you don't like the art itself? manga is about the art too, thus it's understandable..
and if you hate pirates in general, you get another reason not to like it...

The art is take it or leave it. I like the wierdness because not all manga can be the same shit that is in shonen jump all the time. However, you are entitled to your opinion, as i am i. I am of the opinion that One Piece is the best shounen manga, hands down, on the market now.

It's not that I just hate One Peice just not like one of my favorites,maybe it good now,but I didn't find it appealing ewhen I picked it up..I think around chapters 62-70.

Yea just do me a favor and read at least until chapter 100 before you judge it. I understand One Piece starts off kind of slow, chapter 100 is where the real fun starts. Anybody who hasn't read until then doesn't really think it's anything special.

I agree on that somehow its really important to read at least 100-200 chapters...after that time I got really addicted to it.

Also the art is a bit strange but whatever...I started to like it more and more...also the massive amount of double spreads (3 in a row) und so many details in the drawings...thats another good point for me. At the beginning I didnt like that but all the funny and cruel villians and the funny animals...plus the incredible humor =)
