Hello!
I have noticed after rereading chapters of the series several times that you can find many historical, artistic and mythological referencies in DGM. They are not all visible at first and you may need some specific culture to spot some, hell some are even hidden in the art!
First there are obviously the biblical references going along with the church setting but there are also various others, it seems like.
What are the ones you noticed? Or think might be?
