Previously we learned that Mikiya is the very personificaton of a 'nice and caring guy' and thus he is loved and respected by most of the characters in Kara no Kyoukai and vice versa. We also learned that he has some really good character qualities that are husbando worty, and he has a pretty easy going and nice personality to back it all up. HUSBANDO QUALITIES and other stuff ....

In the series Kara no Kyoukai, Mikiya has a decent number of really good friends that he loves and trusts a big deal, and in return they respect him and love him back with the same passion. Even certain villains have some respect for this guy, one even being in love with him (that villain is a she). But what interests us the most here is his interaction with the people around him, most importantly with his waifu where he shows dem husbando skillz that are worty of voting for him.

So like i said in the series he has a waifu and its the OH SO AWEOME AND BADASS ...

You need something, you want someone to stay by your side, or your in trouble and need help, got hurt somewhere, or your in a coma for two years ... well fear not, this guy will take care of everything and watch over you whenever you need him. He a reliable man.

Oh and if anyone if wondering how old he is, well as far as i know there is no info about that, but in the story we follow him from highschool to college years, and we finish off with husbando adult years.

Mikiya is similar in some ways and a worthy opponent, but Thorfinn chose to be this way, nothing was decided for him.
