Yeah we need to see Class B asap, I don't even know majority of their names without looking it up. But honestly more Kendou is really I care for. Ibara, Tetsutetsu and Monona are the only other ones I know off the top of my head

I agree, what exactly is good about a closeup of the main character just staring like that? Nothing is happening in the image and he isn't even striking a pose. Hori ilikes old western hero comics... so why doesn't he create some cool covers in that same style? The closest we had was the one with Muscular and the one previous with Tomura. Give us more of those types of covers!

Addendum. Although thinking about it and looking at his other covers, I believe that this might be exactly what he is doing. All the covers are inspired by some of his favorite western comic covers.

Well, lets hope we get some of those classic 70s-80s style covers that always had the villain creating a dangerous situation for the hero in the cover.

I really have a distaste for wasted volume cover potential this is a good example of it, because it takes out my interest into buyimg the said volume.

Tumblr fanartists make more interesting picture, lol. And that is so strange because not only in the manga but in his twitter as well, the sketch and art in general looks so GOOD.
For example, Toga and Dabi covering their mouth would make a cool cover.

Any of the big 3 in their hero costumes would be a great volume cover, Hori has so many options yet he goes to use plain old deku, this reminds me of how magi ruined a lot of their volume covers by focusing needlessly on the MC.

I think Horikoshi is doing even worse than Othaka. We have Deku in, like, ALL the covers except two because of Bakugou and Todoroki.
I wonder why, since lots of characters would be great to show on the covers!

Yeah especially in their hero costumes I really dont get why would hori have difficulties in giving fans what they want in this situation unless he's just being lazy with the covers which seems the most reasonable explanation for using deku a lot since he's easy to writte down. Ohtaka started doing something very similar after the kou civil war after upgrading the volume covers of magi to have some DE (s) needless to say people werent impressed.

I do agree that the viewer can never expect to receive a very great hype volume cover for every volume that comes out and that the initial covers by norm dont apply to much but at a certain point of a series (especially long running) I think the author should reward the fans with some good cover work to keep them hooked, In my opinion nothing too fanservy or plain but at least something with a certain level of rule of cool for this types of series.

What I can say about Ohtaka is that at least, even if with Aladdin, the coloring is amazing. Can't say the same about Horikoshi...
