Watching Initial D has reminded me of how awesome insert songs can truly be. They can add that extra something to important scenes, they can help express the feelings of the characters or/and they can help to tell the story itself. With that in mind, I would like to ask you, what is/are your favorite insert song/s?

As those fans of Code Geass might have known, this song is played near the ending of the series and caused quite lots of fans to form their theories about the plot. Either way the lyric is beautiful and strong, the arrangement is nice and unique. I love it.

Yoko Kanno's insert song for "Darker than Black" still is one of my absolute favourites and one of the few I probably won't forget about. Made the fight between Hei and Wei even more awesome.

Tsubasa Chronicle may have a weak plot, but the soundtrack of the anime is just pure beauty. This song here easily becomes one of my most favorite ever. Keiko's voice is also so beautiful.

I only listened to Stories lately, but I also like it. Too bad we never heard it on the series directly, I think(?).

The last episode of Code Geass had a very strong impact on me because of many reasons so that’s why I can’t listen to those songs without getting all teary-eyed.

I only listened to Stories lately, but I also like it. Too bad we never heard it on the series directly, I think(?).

We do. Stories is an insert song on Episode 5 during season 1.

Salad-chan!!! Welcome back to the OC! It is so good to see you, thank you for sharing those awesome songs with us.

Another anime that has amazing insert songs is Clannad (Clannad = Clannad + Clannad After Story). The insert songs in Clannad are so emotionally powerful, they are not only beautiful songs but they also help highlight important scenes incredibly well. Here is one of my favorite insert songs from Clannad:

My current favorite insert song is this one from Gundam Seed (although I never watched the series)...


I read that it's supposed to be sung by Tanaka Rie, composed by Kajiura-sensei. I suppose she made Wakana sang it instead afterwards? LOL~ Anyway it's good and sooo calming.
