Basically, the title

Who among Byodoin, Tanegashima, Duke, Tokugawa, and Oni is the best doubles player?

They are all Singles Specialist.

But who is the best in playing and transitioning to doubles?

Byodoin and Oni are arguably the strongest individual player currently. But Ochi/Mouri were able to beat them. Albeit they are a little injured.
So, maybe they are not good in doubles too.

Duke can play doubles. And even achieve howling both with Camus and Niou. He can complement Fuji too.

Tanegashima plays good in doubles as well as he plays singles

Tokugawa is a singles specialist too. But he can achieve howling with Yukimura

Boss!
Boss is too OP compared to the rest.
In his injured stat he was able to return 100% mach serve if ochi! The later Ochi launched faster and stronger serve yet he didn't use his 100% or 8C.
With world techs, strong mentality, undying HOO, Pirate and 300Kg I would pick him.
Who knows we might ended up howling:)))
I wonder who is Boss howling partner? Monster?
The second of course Tane. He can use 4 void, disappearing himself and his partner.
Always hide something under his sleeves.
Pretty smart and tricky guy.
Oni: Rise every one.
I think there is no doubt his partner is Kintaro.
With these two, only few has a chance Vs them.
Duke:
Very reliable partner.
His offensive and defensive power can give one partner such a freedom to do as he please.
Now Tokugawa:
Rare creatures. His abilities can be effective in both D ans S, on the same level.
Of course his fighting spirit is something valuable. Vs Medanore I want see his brain rather than muscles.

I mean Byodoin was injured in that doubles match.

But anyways Volk already have a partner in Tezuka.

I wonder if Byodoin have a suitable partner for howling.

But i still see Byodoin more suited in Singles than Doubles.

I think Tanegashima is more tricky and versatile in doubles. I mean Tane can be partnered with everyone and the pairing will be good.

As you said, he can make himself and his partner invisible

Tane go some skill that suits and productive in doubles, no doubt.
Yet, Byodoin got skill that Really too OP, the tried version of him that Niou uses was bring them one set, though German double were stupid but still, Duke, Byodoin leave everyone (Including German Coach and Monster Himself) and Amadeus in sweat:))
which says: Japan has no plan to give up on this match, even 3 Coaches were agree to use Boss as a double partner for Duke.
Anyway, I saw tennis match Roger/Rafa Vs Some double (one of the best at that moment) they were pretty good but at the end lost to them.
So it's better to say: you prefer X/Boss or X/Tane? I think pretty much another partner would have been helpful for better decision.

I think individually Byodouin of course is much more versatile because he has a ton of weapons to combat anybody (8C, improved Kijin, World Techniques, ability to evolve when pushed to his limits…) that makes him stronger than Tane individually, but Tanegashima overall I think has more versatility in doubles. For example with chemistry, Byodouin paired with anybody strong will do well ofc, but imo you can pair Tane with anybody literally and he’ll do tremendously good and will make his partner evolve too, so for me in the doubles aspect I prefer Tane.

In doubles for example, I doubt Byodouin/Duke (not Niou) would have beaten Bertie/Dankmar. Tezuka/Volk were beaten in straight sets and the pros are for a reason the best pair (or were before losing) in the tourney. Duke/Niou had advantage because not only a new Howling formed up. The pros threw away the first set avoiding going 100% against a Mser and Niou changed his illusion constantly so Bertie couldn’t adapt quickly enough to what he had in store, which in the end he did and left him out of options.

It’s not like Byodoin/Duke aren’t overkill, but when going 100% right from the start Bertie/Schneider would win. They would have a hard time though with Duke’s giant Kijin and if Byo manages to unleash 8C, their chances of victory would rise significantly, however Bertie can adapt basically to any doubles situation fast enough and their Howling is great too. Sure it was an illusion of a 50% Byo but Bertie nonetheless managed to overcome it, and if the true Byo played going 100%, Bertie would take longer but in the end would still figure out both of Byo and Duke’s playstyle and accordingly create counters to them.

Agree that Boss Vs Duke can't deal with Doubles. Maybe.
But here are:
1- Practice match, though is different than real one.
2- Tezuka was there like 2 months? well, there is no way even with Howling that he create with Volk, can beat experienced doubles players.
3- Byodoin and Duke were all around the world, and they know each other perfectly.
4- In terms of Comparison, even Tane with most likely anybody cannot beat 100% Bertie and FatGuy. I think Ohmigari is his best mate, so they can?
No! these two idiots are strongest double so far.
......
My point is that Boss compare to Tane, is someone more reliable. and of course Tane is not an double experties like little Volk and Dankmak.
I think the reason they beat Volk/Tezuka was clear. lack of experience as a double, though they formed an howling but please.
Since Volk was able to howling himself, I think their howling is Tornado which is quite strongest than anything we've seen so far.
It's not unbeatable but anyone has the most hard time ever, since they face both Monster Volk and Tezuka.
Anyway: choosing Tane is as wise as choosing Boss.

Wow. Tanegashima dominating the Poll.

Let's Recap his showings in doubles

1. With Ohmagari - They were so much better than Sanada and Akutsu back then. So we didnt saw any of their chemistry and teamwork.

2. With Akaya - Best Teamwork we saw from Tanegashima. Complementing and assisting Akaya's Angle Devil Mode, with his Invisibility and Void.

3. With Shiraishi - He played well with Shiraishi. They just let Shiraishi and Kintarou battle each other.

However Kintaro sharp eyes can see Tanegashima even in his Invisible Form.
