Discussion Why are Korean names so hard to remember ?

Honestly guys, what tricks do you use to remember who is who ?

a notepad, i write the korean name down and the english name beside it.
or i read it that many times until i got it memorized.
if i really like the manhwa 1000 times would not come close to watching it.
and if im really bought away by it, i buy the series, but rarely do.

one example to watch, one to cherish, one to give away, and one to keepsake

If you are really into the manhwa and you really like to read it, then you will easily memorize them, also language you being French, ofc you wouldn't get let's say, Saudi Arabia's style of naming. Each has its own culture and own history.

I also have a hard time with memorizing the names lol. But the names of the principal characters and the ones i like just stick in my mind . For the rest i make a fast google search and all 's set

On the most occasion i get pissed 'cause i remember just partially some characters names but well that's another story

As matzik said, everything is about time, I suppose. The more you read and the more you like the series, the easier it goes for you to remember the names. Several manhwa used quite almost like Western names or popular names you hear from Korean artists or something so it might be less hard, but for others, you just have to remember it step by step. No rush and enjoy the story, you'll get there eventually. It took me so many chapters in Tower of God to remember the characters' name properly, just so you know, and I think by now I have forgotten most of them again. XDDD

Well I guess it depends whether you remember names well in general or not. I'm really bad with them already in other languages but Korean is really the worse. There resemble really nothing I know I could use to help remember :-)
