Usually, if you hear "Shoujo" you think of stories which all have basically the same plot, and where in the end you just get a happily ever after marriage scene - NANA is different! First of all, it brings up Music and it's harsh business. We get to see two Nana's, with totally different lives, which are still connected after all - and the cherry on the cake is Ai Yazawa's particular way of telling two stories, without leaving out the serious topics and questions of life and love - as so many Shoujou-Writers do. NANA is definitely addressing your emotions and once you've started reading, you'll never stop. Permalink " "

This story being a mixture of adult related scenes and strong drama; I've found myself IN LOVE with this series. You'll never find a more heart breaking, yet, thrilling book series then NANA. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and there was no possible way to stop reading each and every page that I did. When I first heard of this, I misinterpreted this. I figured it'd be about a grandmother dying or such as that, or even if it did have boyfriend relationship problems-it was this book that dragged on such an enthusiastic tale that had me reconsider my thoughts about it. There was tears, there was laughter, there was joy and there was anxiety. As if I was within the book and going through these stages as my own. This book is has a drawing storyline and there's just no way possible that you'll be able to stop reading it. Permalink " "

This is the best anime next to Bleach. What makes it so wonderful is that every character is strong and very different.

Kudos for Ai Yazawa and I hope she will be back to continue the story, because it would be a shame to leave it unfinished. Permalink " "
