so enkidu was a jelly like creature which wanted to hang out with traumerei. Traum wanted it to become human and when it did occupy someone he made sure it knew that it was not the same as traum and his friends making it obsessive and concieted. And when it killed someone he loved traum left broken and he in return became obsessive woah

Also, the whole flashback is a more... idyllic time. This was before people were so quick to expect backstabbing and they trusted people a whole lot more.

You really get the sense that the more warped the Family Heads became is the more warped the culture of the Tower as a whole became.
