But if Wolfen does not have cloning abilities and was just multiple individuals, Aldo gets wrecked indeed

I doubt Aldo has the magic power to create tens or even hundreds of clones of himself at full power. It doesn't even make sense for him to make just one clone of himself without having to split his mp in half. From what I can tell, there were many Wolfen clones because they used up very little of Aldo's MP and the people they turned into were far weaker than Aldo.
