Nominations will be open from December 22, 2013 until January 4, 2014. The second round will begin on January 7, 2014 allowing the staff 48 hours to count nominations.

Last year's winner, Clannad, is an anime of comparable quality. A deserved win. Because of the Hunter x Hunter invasion, and skipping 2011, last year's awards felt a little off. All of the winners were deserving, only it was strange to see most of the big shows from 2011 and 2012 shut out. 2011 in particular is looking epochal, maybe the best year of anime in recent history, possibly ever. Hunter x Hunter was the only notable new anime to win anything. It wasn't so much that shows from 2011 - 2012 didn't win everything, it's that they won nothing. Magi was the only other show to win anything.

Ah yeah, Menma I think that the amount of incredible female lead characters is pretty high though, and other females are a lot more popular than Menma. No doubt she would deserve it.

To be honest the sequel of Darker than Black was pretty lackluster =/ Hei's character was ruined, among other things. Shame the series never got a satisfying ending

I definitely agree with you. I much prefer the first season (I didn't care about Hei at all in the sequel,) but I find Suou from the sequel such a brilliant character she is the one and only reason I nominated this series, since her development defines all the heart-moving drama in the show :3
