Info General Light Novel News and Announcements

Since no one has made the thread for any light novel related news and announcements, so I guess I'll start. The rule is same as from General Manga Thread and General Anime Thread, except it only focuses on the light novels.

It is confirmed that five novel series from MF Bunko J going to get an anime. Here's the five series which are getting an anime:

It looks like Owari Monogatari (new Monogatari series) going to release on October Issue of Bessatsu Shounen Magazine, before releasing as a volume. Also, this is a light novel, not a manga.

Bessatsu Shounen Magazine will only publish Ougi Formula, the first story from Owarimonogatari, in the October issue (available September 9). Bessatsu Shounen Magazine will not serialize the entire novel. From ANN

From Dengeki Event, Fushimi Tsukasa (author of Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai) announced his new work, titled Ero Manga Sensei. So far, it is confirmed that the illustrator will be Kanzaki Hiro (same illustrator from Oreimo) and this series also going to focus on the sibling.

One of the two fighting games I want out of JPN. I was glad for playable Shizuo at least (but wanted Kida Masaomi and Izaya for my sandwich). Haru is Kuroyukihime's support which is alright. I hope Tatsuya is in this (Mahouka) and maybe even playable Miyuki just for the ice attacks alone.

New series by the Oreimo author Fushimi Tsukasa outlined:

"The 'new sibling romantic comedy' revolves around Masamune Izumi, a light novel author in high school. Masamune's little sister is Sagiri, a shut-in girl who hasn't left her room for an entire year. She even forces her brother to make and bring her meals when she stomps the floor. Masamune wants his sister to leave her room, because the two of them are each other's only family.

Oreimo illustrator Kanzaki Hiro also provided art of Ero Manga Sensei. The first volume goes on sale December 10, for ¥610 (about $6.15)

Contestants in the Jump j Book character contest are being asked to write about a character specially drawn for the competition, by Peach-Pit. The contest will last through April 30, 2014. Entrants are asked to write 800 characters, or less, about the character in the picture.

Ripogura!, an upcoming short story collection by NisiOisiN will include illustrations provided by mangaka Kumeta Kouji (Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei), Itou Junji (Gyo), Kumota Haruko, Kurahana Chinatsu, Shigeno Naoki, Tanaka Ai, Nakamura Asumiko (Coponicus no Kokyuu), Peach Pit, Mashima Hiro and artists Tanji Yoko, pomodorosa, Mino Taro, and Yoshida Yoshitsugi.

Durarara! Novels Change Title With 2-Year Jump in Story

The author's notes in the 13th volume of Ryohgo Narita's Durarara!! light novel series announced last week that the first arc of the series has ended. However, Narita assured fans that the series would continue into a second arc. The new arc will take place two years in the future, and the novel series will be retitled Durarara!! SH.

In addition, he wrote that plans are being made for the 10th anniversary of Durarara!!, and that these plans will be unveiled in Durarara!! SH in the spring and at upcoming Dengeki events.

New anime maybe?

I want more durarara. Bought aniplex ultra pricey set for it and watched it all in one day. I just hope the novels continued to have kida in them.

Kida is one of the three main characters. He's still in the novels. The anime only covered character introductions. The main story line begins in volume four.
