4 (Jessica, Tiffany, Seohyun, Sooyoung) out of 9 members of SNSD are no longer under contract.

f(x) is gone.

What... There's plenty to choose from. 3 other Red Velvet members, 3 other Oh!GG members. SuperM was all third gen except for Taemin, so it's not like this group had to be different. I just don't think anyone in Aespa can stand up to the others as performers, they're out of place IMO.

Luna has said f(x) isn't disbanded, they're just not under SM anymore. Not that they would have been included.

"SuperF" has been talked about as long as SuperM was a thing, maybe even before that as an SM Town project. So for rookies to jump the line over other SM women just rubs me the wrong way, I guess.

I saw people reacting to the show and who they picked and it seems like actual vocalists were not prioritized at all. Plus the second ranked girl was barely featured in the show at all and still finished that high seemingly only because she's the younger sister of a TXT member. I'm happy for Yujin to get a second chance at an idol career since Cube left her and CLC in the dumpster. But other than that, it's just another Produce group at the end of the day. The fact that they were going to be on MAMA before they even debuted is proof enough how much of a joke Mnet and KPop in general is.

I know I already come off as an anti, but the song preview doesn't really sound promising either lol

And yeah, the name is terrible... but that seems par for the course as far as most groups debuting in the last year or two.

The girl from Cherry Bullet was the only one left in the last episode who could actually sing, so I'm not sure what people expected.

Didn't stop them from selling more than Aespa's first EP though... so who cares really, right?

Lineup is kind of hit or miss for me. Brave Girls, WJSN, and LOONA get no argument from me, they make a lot of sense. Kep1er being included is kind of a joke since GirlsPlanet999 is an Mnet show, otherwise they would have never been included. They're only together for 2 years and have a single EP out, so how is it justifiable? Sort of the same deal with Viviz, but at least the Gfriend members in that group have accomplished something and have a history. As far as Hyolyn goes, I'm only negging on it a bit because she's a soloist. I think she's a more capable performer than Park Bom, but she was at such a disadvantage in the first Queendom that I thought Mnet would have avoided doing that again. They did for Kingdom at least.

Not sure how the cover round is going to work with Kep1er and Viviz there, they have so few songs... I was holding out hope for EXID or Apink. Unsure what the ratings will be here, since Brave Girls are probably the only real big draw in Korea.

Anyways, as an Orbit I'm pretty excited to see what comes of it. Pretty much all of the groups from the first Queendom received a significant boost domestically from being on the show. Great opportunity for a group that has a lot of attention internationally already.

They'll have live audiences for the performances though, apparently. Korea is still in the middle of the Omicron wave and concerts have been happening and are still scheduled but idk
