Natsu has zero DSM magic to his disposal so all he has his regular hand to hand combat. He can't burn anything if he has no magic to burn things with. Gildarts' Absolute Heaven that he used on August only worked cause of his prosthetic arm. Natsu is all flesh and bones big homie.

He has never shown to receive any kind of damage during whatever fight we saw of him; he managed to completely withstand both Fairy Glitter and All Crush. No one can tell me that some crappy fire punch of Natsu can hurt him. He can basically cast whatever spell he wants but it won't do a thing. August casts Ars Magia instead and completely oneshots.

EDIT: Replace Ars Magia with whatever spell you can come up with that oneshots Natsu.

Natsu's power demonstratively became the most potent, magical force of the manga, burning not just conventional magic but the concept of death, space & time, & even burn the soul (as Zeref puts it) of a mage housing FT's Universe equivalent of unlimited power.

August isn't even in his class right now, whether you'd like to admit it or not.

When he burned Zeref's time and space magic he was using his DSM. I don't doubt Natsu isn't the strongest in FT barring Acnologia who is the strongest of them all but we haven't seen canonically that Natsu can do that without using his magic. He just has close quarters in this fight so it comes down to if August can spam enough magics and last out from Natsu's attacks. Which points to August winning. When it comes to power Natsu > August, when it comes to everything else August > Natsu. Without DSM Natsu won't pull this one out.
