Yes, kinda. Or rather not the Luffy that we know. The Road to Laugh Tale also hints at the consciousness of the animal sipping into you. We also had Schizophrenia with the Pirate Prince Cavendish and the Sun, Prometheus...

It is also not the final gear, Wano is just the penultimate arc and in Shonen the strongest Form is always revealed at the end. The Final gear is "R" and we will go back to the Luffy that we know and love.

Yeah, I’ve pretty much concluded that part of the reason Oda had Carrot there is to get reaction from fans in such a way as to better keep Carrot in mind for later. Oda got a big reaction from people when he halfway cut off Carrot’s response to the mink leadership offer, so the Zodiac joke would really just be a bonus if anything.

Regardless of how people feel towards Carrot herself, then fact that as many people are talking about her even now and what happened to her can speak volumes, even though she’s not at Egghead right now. If Oda’s main intention was to keep Carrot in mind while she’s away, then I suppose Oda did rather well in accomplishing that intention.

Very nice colorful cover.

But ya know, I can't help but feel bad somehow. Luffy and the others get to fly around in a super cool futuristic society full of robots and all that, and meanwhile, Yamato is stuck in a mostly barren, cramped Wano being guard dog to a shogun who wanted her to be free to explore at sea, with citizens who might just reject her for being Kaido's child.

But ah well, still hope she's just as happy.

I'm usually fine with most of Oda's covers, but I don't care for this one at all. I liked some of the other concepts he was toying with before. The one with the Marines lined up and saluting looked like it could've really been cool had he finished it.

It also looks like the first rough sketch was going to give us a look at Imu.
