A person who fears 怪談（kaidan, ghost stories）should live in a 平屋（hiraya, single-storied house）without kaidan (階段, stairs）.

When you actually answer the riddle, just use 2 kanji instead of 3.
You could also polish up your answer by rephrasing it in Katakana. :amuse

四谷怪談(Yotsuya kaidan), the ghost story of　Oiwa (お岩さん/Oiwa-san), is very famous. People often associate the phrase with her (Oiwa).

Mangahelperくんもプレゼントを買いました。→ Mangahelper-kun is once again the subject in this sentence, but this time there's the particle, も/mo. も roughtly translates to "also", "too" and "as well" so the translation is "Mangahelper-kun bought a present, too."

When you count books, you use -冊 (ten books = 十冊); when you count dogs, you use -匹 (ten dogs = 十匹); when you count people, you use -人 (ten people = 十人). How would you count cake?

You use -個 (ko) so ten cakes would be counted as 十個.

Introduction to Arabic:

Arabic is always written in cursive with each letter changing depending on where it is positioned in the word. Certainly letters can not be connected to subsequent letters when appearing in the middle.
Letter are pronounced as they appear unless altered by harakat short vowel marks. Alif is pronounced like the "a" sound in the English all, baa like the English bat, etc.
The harakat on preceding letters can give Ya and Waw long vowel sounds Ya takes the long E sound of feed while Waw takes the long O sound of food.

The basic harakat are short vowel sounds. Fluent speakers do not need harakat to properly pronounce words and they do not appear in Arabic newspapers. They do appear in literature, calligraphy, and more serious publications. There are additional harakat but these are among the first things learned in beginners Arabic:

Fathah: Appears above the letter, giving a soft ah or eh sound similar to end or and. Fathah over Alif followed by Ya produces an ay sound similar to day.
Kasrah: Appears below the letter, giving a soft I sound similar to fin or win. When followed by Ya it produces the long E sound of feed.
Dammah: Appears above the letter and produces a short O sound similar to blue. When followed by a Waw it produces the long O sound of food.
Hamzah: Technically not harakat, nor is it a full letter. It can appear above, below, or following a vowel. Hamzah indicates a glottal stop, somewhat like the pause when enunciating the English uh-oh.

Some questions were about Japanese; I was tempted to try but then I could only answer Asarii's first question, haha~ I almost failed in that; I started to forget my Japanese lessons. Argh.

Thanks so much for submitting multi-language Q&As.

I only speak 2 languages, but I enjoyed reading all of them. For example, I translated back and forth (ENG>Portuguese, P>ENG) the Portuguese Q&A by Asclepius using an online translation program. I am not actually going to learn the language, but it was fun. The only one that I could answer from Charlie's Korean questions was how to say hello. Lingala(DR Congo) by goldb - I have no clue, but the language sounds like Japanese. I think I can be fluent in Lingala if I put my effors. Number 5 in Lingala is 見たの(I saw/ Did you see in female JP speech). If I change b to P, it's 散歩（sanpo: taking a walk）. I think I like the language already. Then, I was excited to see igotthegoods's French questions since I learned the language at school for 2 years, but I failed all. :darn

From Josef K.'s Macedonian Q&As, I learned the most important word: manga.

Oh, Kaiten~

I didn't know that you knew Arabic language. It was very cool. From poetic M3J's question, I found the structural grammar between English and Hindi almost identical!~. That was a discovery. From naruto-niichan's German questions, I recognized "Good morning." :amuse

Among all the Japanese Q&As (by Asari, benelori, c_k, DrPepperPro, njt, phio_chan, Sama_al_Azraq, and serizawa) I must say that I struggled with Sama_al_Azraq's questions the most. I actually cheated. :darn

One thing that I wanted to add to serizawa-san's post was: the word 4) skinship can be casually used between parents and their children, owners and pets, among friends and more. Thank you everyone, and I hope MH members also enjoyed this special multi-language Q&As to celebrate the MH's birthday as much as I did.

Yep, my language is very similar to japanese; off the top of my head I can't think of exact words but I know there are many similar ones. Even my last name(Kimoto) sounds japanese. I think there's even a japanese meaning for it :hee

Habari? (How are you ? is one of the few Swahili words that I know.) You are right about Swahili. It's also interesting to read articles about language history. Loan words are the majority in English language for example. Knowing that Japanese is nothing to do with Lingala and Swahili, it is still amusing to hear the phonetic similarities. :^_^
